Beautiful.

I don't ever wanna hear **** about Chris's playoff failures in our uniform ever again [as long as Milk Carton George is on our roster]. At least Chris would hoop his ass off and get us into near winning positions before his few blunders.

And lol if they make it out of the 1st round and we don't.

Chris is finally the mature leader he always needed to be. He still wasn't, as recently as his stint with Beard and the Rockets.

And it sure sounds like Blake and the rest realize now that immaturity was Lob City's biggest problem. The finger points back at each one of them to one degree or another.

IMO.. these are the type teams he needs to be on. He's the star surrounded by really good players who compliment his game similar to the team he was on in New Orleans where he shined. When he's in a duo situation with another star then the head butting and disappointments start up until somebody has to go. I don't even believe him and Kobe would've gotten along if he went to the Lakers instead of us.

His pal The Beard giving Chris the boot had to ROCK his world, not to mention OKC GM Sam Presti found no takers for CP out there either.

Some of ya'll cry too much. It's 2-2. All is well. We will be fine. Was the loss disappointing? Of course. But **** happens. Nut up and get over it.

PG about to drop 50 tomorrow night.

I sure hope you're right. It seems like the momentum has shifted though. The Clippers hanging their heads while the Mavs are celebrating all over the court- even before the game winner. Their confidence is unfortunately growing- Hardaway and Curry in particular. Seems like a pattern for Doc's Clippers- the longer a series goes the more the role players of the opposing team start to play like all stars. It isn't my imagination is it? It seems his teams get disheartened while the opposing teams get bolder and bolder.

Is it true that Kawhi partly came here because of Doc? I know management won't want to upset him, but perhaps they should move in a different direction. I would like to give Cassell a shot, but I open to other options as well- just don't know who is available.

I don't look at this group the same way as the CP3/Blake group. That group was a bunch of divas who never really cared about each other. I don't get that sense w this squad.
If we lose tomorrow I'll be concerned. But I think blowing a 21 pt lead will light a fire under our guys and we come out swinging early on like games 1 and 4, but this time they don't let up.

According to many or most accounts, Doc Rivers is an organizational asset. Doc is also the only active black championship coach [although Ty Lue should probably re-join him next season]. The disrespect for him is mostly confined to certain Clipper "fans."

Oh I know. I don't post here often at all anymore, but I'm well aware of who the negative Nancy's are. Especially the main culprit lol. It's like he'd rather see us lose just so he can complain.

After that you should have zero credibility here. So what if he's the only active black coach with a ring? What does black have to do with this? Spoelstra is probably also an active coach with an ethnic background and last time I checked and he too has multiple rings.
And who are you to decide that those bashing Doc are not Clippers' fans? You come across as some holier than thou sanctimonious ahole thinking only your takes defending Doc for the last 10 years make sense and only you are a true fan. I am a LA native and have been following this team for a long time. I've earned the right to criticize the coach and the team as a fan.
Your take that we hate Doc equals a hate for this team is just effing asinine. It's quite the opposite. You hate this team therefore you're ok about a loser like Doc coaching this team.

Are you actually trying to imply that any criticism of Doc is racist? This is just getting sad now. :noway:

I don't think tvd is the race bait type of guy.

Doc's race is completely irrelevant imo though and I've never felt that even the harshest criticism of him ever had anything to do with his race.

I know race should never be an issue and that tvd didn't mean it that way. But the current environment is such that it makes it hard to criticize someone based on their abilities without looking at that person's race. It has become very complicated.

I'm so tired of Playoff P creating more drama and distractions every time he talks to the media this series. The defenders aren't great? Really? You're making them look like the 2004 Pistons. It's seriously difficult to root for this guy.

Nothing in that PG quote is incorrect. He's missing open looks. He's owning it. Stop crying.

Lol. He's missing open shots and while owning up to it, he's also trashing their defense. I don't think Dallas needs any extra locker room material for extra motivation.

Being quick or having long arms does not make him a good defender, just makes him more physically capable. At that situation you want someone not only very good perimeter defender but also is taller than Luka.
If the lead is 2 or 3 points, you double team him after screen, and take your chances with a pass to inside. But with one point lead, you can't do that so you have to make sure your top defender is on the guy.

Doc should have had Kawhi, PG, Mann, Morris and Green on the floor and told Kawhi not to switch off Luka. If he tried to stick to Luka, Kleber could have committed an offensive foul by trying to push him away from Luka via moving screen.

Watch the last play, and this is right after a timeout,
- Finney-Smith is inbounding the ball, Shamet is on him. (You want a tall guy with long arms here to block vision and potentially tip the inbounbd pass - MISTAKE #1).
- Kawhi is on Luka (this is good)
- Reggie Jacson is on Kleber who is 6 inches taller than him (MISTAKE #2)
- PG is on Curry (this is good as Curry is the best shooter on the floor and second most likely to take a 3point shot after Luka)
- Morris is on Hardaway (this is OK as Morris can also drop inside to protect the rim if an alley-oop is in play)
MISTAKE #3 is obviously telling the team to switch off when you have mismatched defenders.

Doc has 3 mistakes during a timeout. Inexcusable.

I totally agree. I'm not defending Doc by any means, I just don't understand why Jackson isn't a better defender. He has the physical tools to be a solid defender.

yeah, and I'm not bashing on Reggie. He has done well in some games, made some shots. HE has been decent. But he didn't become a below average defender overnight. Doc keep putting him on Luka during clutch time is just stupid.
I think Reggie has always been gifted offensively, and been the by far best offensive weapon in his high school and college teams that he didn't feel the need to work on his defense when he is young. Quiet common.
