Re: Transaction Discussion Part 3 (Trades, Free-Agency, News, Rumors & Ideas)
It's certainly a thought, though Chicago, Atlanta, Sacramento and Dallas might make it harder for the Brooklyn pick to get in the top 4. Since the lottery reform doesn't kick in yet, if Brooklyn remains a tough-ish team and wins high 20's to low 30's, their chances at top 4, and more so for #1 decreases drastically.

Id trade DJ for DeAndre Ayton, right now. Love me some Doncic and Bagley too.
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

Re: Transaction Discussion Part 3 (Trades, Free-Agency, News, Rumors & Ideas)
anyone interested in trading for Eric Bledsoe for Austin Rivers? just curious.
Pat and Eric will make a very small guard combo, but their defense would be amazing, and Eric can run an offense. if this deal is available, Lawrence has to pull the trigger.

Can't see the Suns having any interest, but I think we would all do it 100%

Does Brice Johnson have much trade value now, since his option was declined? Being from NC, I had high hopes for him.

Thoughts?
This is assuming that the Clippers are out of it come trade deadline
Bucks get: Jordan/Dekker
Clippers get: Middleton/Telly
Why Bucks: The are one dominate Center away from being a top 3 seed in the East now, while they lose Middleton, Jabari should be coming back at this time to make up for the points that Middleton is providing.
Why Clippers: Jordan has an opt out clause after this season, they get a 3D wing that would pair good with Griffin

I would love to see a Middleton, Gallo, Blake lineup. Except on the glass, and protecting the rim.

I don't think we'd want to take multiple contract years for a salary matching piece like Teletovic. If we're dumping DJ now we shouldn't really be clogging the cap for a couple years. Hawes would work better just for that purpose. I think the Clippers would ask for Brogdon too, but that probably doesn't happen. The Bucks couldn't sign DJ in the offseason without a lot of moves though, so I guess there could be some bargaining to be done.

maybe DJ won't opt out
his dinosaurness is showing
rebs are still there but he can't score without CP and his blocks have gone down every year
he's tied for 34th

His blocks have gone down because he would rather wait to see if he can rebound a miss then contest a shot/get dunked on

What do you think of 2020 Heat 2nd, Jerian Grant and Robin Lopez for DeAndre? Bulls gets Lopez's contract off their books. Lopez should compliment Blake well. He played well with KP in NY. Maybe Grant could work at PG in LA.

I don't think this makes more sense than the Bucks deal. There isn't really any upside here. As an ND guy, I like Jerian, but he's basically a combo guard that doesn't have much NBA level scoring upside. I mentioned it in another thread somewhere, that it doesn't seem likely that the team would take on salary to get a 2nd when they've shown that they're willing to pay cash for 2nds. The Reed/Harrell combo should provide similar impact (and should be signable for much less) to having Robin Lopez if no other deal materializes and DJ walks.

Re: Transaction Discussion Part 3 (Trades, Free-Agency, News, Rumors & Ideas)
I posted this over on the trade board, but am curious of what Clipper fans think (full disclosure, I am a Minnesota fan).
Would be completed after December 15th....
MIN: D.J. Augustine, Wesley Johnson, and Patrick Beverly
OUT: Jeff Teague, Shabazz Muhammad, and Miami's 2019 Second Round Draft Pick
Why for Minnesota? By doing this, Minnesota patches up their defensive woes at their back-up swing position, takes a solid back-up Point-Guard in D.J. Augustine, who is comfortable with Tom Thibodeau's system, to serve as a competent back-up to Tyus Jones, and wait a year to gain a phenomenal fit in Patrick Beverly to Minnesota's roster.
Why not for Minnesota? Jeff Teague is arguably the best player in this trade, being comfortably better than anyone able to play this season. Some would argue that the second is unnecessary (I kinda would).
LAC: Terrence Ross, Miami's 2019 Second Round Draft Pick, and Oklahoma City's 2020 First Round Draft Pick*
OUT: Wesley Johnson and Patrick Beverly
Why for Los Angeles? Pick-up a potential first-round draft pick and a second for a player that is out for this season and a good swing-player.
Why not for Los Angeles? Patrick Beverly is a damn good player when healthy, and Wesley Johnson has thrived this season.
ORL: Jeff Teague and Shabazz Muhammad
OUT: Terrence Ross, D.J. Augustine, and Oklahoma City's 2020 First Round Draft Pick*
Why for Orlando? Obtain a reliable scorer in Jeff Teague that is desperately needed in their system at the price of a potential late first and Terrence Ross. Orlando obviously needs a player who can be relied on to consistently produce, and Jeff Teague provides that.
Why not for Orlando? Some Orlando fans may be uncomfortable with moving Elfriid Payton to a bench role and losing Terrence Ross.

- RealGM.Two years (exactly two years only) after Oklahoma City conveys a 1st round pick to Minnesota, Oklahoma City will convey its 1st round pick to Orlando (via Philadelphia) protected for selections 1-20 in 2020 or 1-20 in 2021 or 1-20 in 2022; in any year, if this pick is not conveyed because it falls within its protected range, then Oklahoma City will instead convey its 2022 2nd round pick and 2023 2nd round pick to Orlando

Hi all,
What are your opinions about Jahlil Okafor? We have a trade exception from the CP3 deal that we could use on him, and while Philly would like to get something in return, they are slowly using all leverage...
Since we just lost Blake for a considerable amount of time, and DJ is in the middle of some trade discussions, maybe we should take a chance on him.

He's not a PF, so he doesn't help with the loss of Blake, we have a good amount of C's on this team. Also, Clippers are getting to avoid the tax, and at the moment can't add any contracts without going over the tax unless a similar contract is going out.

You're aware that Beverley is out for the season and that Wesley Johnson's current shooting and efficiency is not indicative of his normal performance, right?Domejandro wrote:I posted this over on the trade board, but am curious of what Clipper fans think (full disclosure, I am a Minnesota fan).

Ken Berger:
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2748120-deandre-jordans-decision-to-hire-agent-has-nba-trying-to-guess-his-next-move
Among the teams "kicking the tires hard" on Jordan's availability in a trade, according to a Western Conference executive, are the Milwaukee Bucks. Having added Bledsoe to a rising young core that includes Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jabari Parker and reigning Rookie of the Year Malcolm Brogdon, the Bucks are an intriguing potential destination. According to the Western Conference executive, Milwaukee is intent on adding size and rebounding at the trade deadline.
Jordan would provide both, and the Bucks have the pieces to get a deal done. They also have something else that should not be underestimated: head coach Jason Kidd's close ties to Jordan's agent.
Schwartz represented Kidd for much of his Hall of Fame playing career and helped broker his exit from the Brooklyn Nets head coaching job to join the Bucks in 2014. Though Schwartz is forbidden by National Basketball Players Association regulations from representing players and coaches—regulations that NBPA executive director Michele Roberts has made it a priority to enforce—there is no legislating against decades-old friendships. Two teams told B/R that the Kidd-Schwartz-Jordan ties give the Bucks a distinct advantage if the Clippers decide to move the 6'11" center at the deadline.
