Clippers are basically getting all the troubled players and making themselves the rehab team.

Primo
Jones
Porter Jr.

It's what you have to do when you're in the position they are in, sure, but it's funny.

Next they will sign James Wiseman who is not a rehab guy, but a guy seen as a bust for his position.

KCP going to Orlando. Think that takes them out of the PG race. So it’s Philly then.

Yup, I remember him saying that, and we could see that this was the way they were going. It's controversial in some ways, but it's also smart and necessary for a team in the Clippers situation.

They need talent and they have to take chances to get it.

Eloquently well said, OG. If they can't get youth, can't get assets, and can't see themselves helping other teams at their expense, then they can be an outreach program. A player who was deemed a draft bust, red flagged with injuries, or was exiled from the league for doing something bad? Come to the Clippers, they'll fix your reputation in hopes of getting a second chance.

This fits with the theme of Nicolas Batum, Reggie Jackson, Patrick Beverley, Lou Williams, Montrezl Harrell and Isaiah Hartenstein. A franchise willing to help distressed players down on their luck, seeing Clippers as a last chance saloon. Now they're gonna do it for players with a bad reputation, and that might be hard to do with the Clippers operating as a Dynamic Duo of just Harden-Leonard. Leonard may be a Good Samaritan Spur, but can his good work ethic rub off on these malcontent players?

Also, they're gonna have to face the music. Everybody now sees Clippers as an evil organization. Without a good 2024-25 season, this inaugural Intuit Dome opening is going to be a bad look for them.

Thank god Russ is gonna be gone. Good dude but he's simply unplayable in the modern NBA.

Getting cast aways is fine, but not all cast aways are made equal. Kai Jones for example seemed to be having some mental health related issues, that's not enough reason to not give a player a chance.

Porter on the other hand did criminal things. You still have to have integrity. I'm interested to see what the actual contract terms are and if he will stick

Give me a second to find the tweet. Think it was Law Murray. Vet minimum deal.

Yup.

For what it's worth, his ex girlfriend later said he never hit her.

I will admit that I did not follow this enough to make any definitive claims.

Just a terrible look for PG. Even Harden is helping the team out and he won't.

Primo and Jones didn't even get to play while they were here, so the strategy is baffling (like most of what this front office does). You're getting all the negative PR from signing them but none of their potential contributions on the court. We would be a thousand times better off taking flyers on Euroleague players than doing this.

I HOPE PG leaves. Dude is a f'n loser who doesn't even have the word accountability in his vocabulary.

Sounds like PG is heading to Philly based on the KPJ signing. Clippers picked him up as insurance if they can't get Demar or Klay.

What other Min Contracts can we get to stay competitive?

is it worth the reputational harm?

A woman beater might be okay in Charlotte but in LA?

Rams drafted Lawrence Phillips but they were in St. Louis at the time. Would the LA Rams have? Maybe before they moved to St. Louis but not after they moved back.

Jones came too late, I think they were signing him for the future not the immediate.

Primo, yea, he wasn't actually a good or productive NBA player, not a guy you could put in your rotation, just signed him for the G league basically, not worth the bad PR.
