Blazers fan, I come in peace. Looking past this seasons standings, towards the off season.
What is the running assumption about the Clips FO approach to Kawhi Leonard this off season?
a) keep him as a vet leader
b) trade him to move forward
C) stretch / cut him
If the Clippers decide to move him, what is the realistic price?

Barring an nba intervention, i think he will continue as a clipper for the rest of his career. I'm expecting him using his option to declare his 50m usd next season to sign 2/130 something max money he can get in order to Silence everyone that hes not taking paycuts for u know why. Clips will roll with Garland&Kawhi till 2028.

Doesn't it depend on how the Clippers fare in the playoffs?

I'd like to keep Collins as he played well once he settled into his role. However, I noticed that Hachimura is a free agent. If they can't keep Collins, Rui might be an option- he shot the ball very well in the playoffs and is a solid overall player.

Clippers apparently edging into the mix for Jaylen Brown…
Still some fringe pieces that would need to be settled, but this salary works:
Giannis to Boston
Jaylen Brown to Clippers
Garland, Lopez, #5 to Bucks

Who runs point for us in this scenario?

Jaylen turns 30 in October, for Garland (26 years old) and #5?

If they do trade for Brown, I hope they manage to keep Garland out of the trade. Otherwise they will likely just be a worse version of the rockets- need a true point guard. Kawhi and Brown aren’t true playmakers

Re: Transaction Discussion Part 4 (Trades, Free-Agency, News, Rumors & Ideas)
in all seriousness i don't much see the point of trading for brown if we're going to just undercut the team elsewhere by moving off of DG. who steps in? of course this is different if it was like, keep the 5, trade DG, get brown, and now we have a team that maintains something for both now and the future.
but there's just no way this team has enough to acquire brown for simply DG alone, and while it's sorta nice to think of trading for a star wing who can be a dark horse mvp candidate for the next few years, it's kinda just not getting us anywhere if we don't have enough talent to join him.

Yes.
(I’m just trying to figure out what a package looks like. 2 High value contracts are difficult to cobble together the third package for salary)

Brown hobbles us financially. He's a star player but (IMO) not a superstar. He's not worth a really good player (Garland) and a #5 pick in a deep draft.
Total pivot here ... Atlanta. I'm reading/hearing about the Hawks in trade scenarios. They're desperate for a PG, and if there's someone they like enough at 5, we might be able to get some serious chips from them. Something like:
ATL trades:
Asa Newell
#8 pick and #23 pick
Lottery protected future first
LAC trades:
Cam Christie
#5 pick and #36 pick
