I was thinking that Adelman was let go 1 year too late for us. He does a great job with little talent. I'm surprised the Rockets let him go. He will do a good job where ever he goes next.

That's what I love about him. He gets more out of his players than the typical coach. For years, we had a coach that got less out of more. We've seen Adelman get his teams to be competitive and in the playoff hunt despite injuries or lack of star player. That's what we need.

There are things that I like about Vinny, but the guy is not the greatest tactician. He's a motivator, morale booster, and philosophy guy, but he's green as a coach.

I know this is a little late but that Brandon Roy performance against the Mavericks was crazy. I had stepped out for a bit because I thought that game was over. I was listening to sports radio while driving and heard what Roy did. I thought the Mavericks could possibly take a step forward from years past, but maybe not after what just happened. It is interesting to see how the Mavs will respond.

I'm happy for him. For all that he has had to deal with this season, it's great to see him have a moment to shine. This guy basically has gone from a top 10 player to someone who's future is full of uncertainty. After the public comments, he's proved his coach wrong if only for the past 2 games. It's no telling if or when his knees are going to act up again, so I'm enjoying every minute of it. I feel bad for Dirk, but everybody is a Brandon Roy fan right now. It's still anybody's series, but the momentum has definitely shifted. Whoever takes game 5 is probably going to take the series.

Westbrook once again showed what I don't like about him. Ball-hogging. You have Kevin Durant on your team. There ain't no shame in being Pippen when a player like Durant is playing Jordan. This was more like Pippen pouting on the bench when Kukoc got the final play. I was kind of pulling for Denver in this game so that they don't get swept, but would have loved to have seen OKC pull it out. Durant was 5 for 6 from 3 tonight and Westbrook was 0 for 5 at that point. Stop trying to be the hero. Do what's best for the team and play within your strengths.

I was saying to myself that Westbrook needed to pass to Durant if the team was looking for a 3. I can sort of understand the first 3 since the shot clock was winding down, but Westbrook didn't have to take the second 3. The Thunder should always have Durant taking the last shot. (Unless they are playing us )

Gary Neal! Wow! I know everybody is more than likely rooting for the Grizzlies, but the Spurs simply did not want to die tonight. That's playoff basketball. Will the Grizzlies "Z-bound" from this loss to win it in Memphis? If the Spurs take the next one, then I could see them overcome the 3-1 deficit with the improbable come from behind victory. Should be an interesting game on Friday night.

I agree. This is the 2nd time that a play like this has happened in the last week. The last time it was rule that the player didn't have total possession. This one was a lot closer.

I'm not particularly rooting for any teams, just good/exciting games. So far there have been a lot of exciting games in the playoffs. 6ers were able to keep it close with the heat, Spurs and Grizz went to OT, and Thunder/Nuggets was close down the stretch.

I also thought that Durant stepped into the back court, I really don't know what to make of the call. Hard to say that he didn't establish possession.

This pic was posted on the GB. Both feet are planted in the frontcourt. Supposedly, the argument is that when he gained full possession that his foot was touching the line (i.e. he was still considered to be in the backcourt). His second step was still on the line.

Here's an explication on the Kevin Durant play from last night:

The NBA rulebook states "A ball being dribbled is (1) in the frontcourt when the ball and both feet of the player are in the frontcourt, (2) in the backcourt if the ball or either foot of the player is in the backcourt". In the play from Wednesday night's Oklahoma City-Denver game, as he received the ball, Kevin Durant stepped on the midcourt line with his left foot which is equivalent to being in the backcourt. He never established position in the frontcourt with both feet so the referees were correct in waiving off a backcourt violation. If Durant had both feet and the ball in the frontcourt and then stepped on the midcourt line, the correct call would then have been a backcourt violation.

Thanks numba2. Still iffy to me, but I guess it all depends on what you consider being possession. Is it both feet firmly planted on the floor or both feet simply touching the floor.

Man, Lionel Hollins really dropped the ball on that one. That's right up there with Dumbleavy putting Daniel Ewing on Raja Bell in that playoff game where he busted a three right in his forehead, then went on to win the game and eventually the series.

I loved it when Z-Bo was shushing the crowd after that fadeaway. I was thinking Z-Bo might purposely miss the subsequent free-throw, just to try to take some time off the clock. He didn't. Then, out of the timeout, I thought someone might foul a Spurs player to prevent them from even taking a three. They didn't.

With 1.8 (or was it 1.7?) seconds left I thought, probably not, but if they do tie it up, I'm not going to be surprised. Lo and behold, our friend Neal, the same one that IIRC, had a game winning three against us in the preseason, hits the clutch three to send it to overtime.

Instead of eliminating the Spurs, the Grizzlies now should be worried. If I was a Grizzly, I'd be pretty upset right now, and it might affect my game. Again, I wouldn't be surprised if the Spurs win two in a row to eliminate the Grizz.

And I totally didn't see the Magic being eliminated by the Hawks. Props to them, but the Bulls are going to make quick work of them.

Joe Johnson is known for not stepping up in the playoffs, but tonight he was as good as he has ever looked in the postseason. To me, the Bulls have yet to really play all the great. Their players have struggled, and they can't afford to anymore. I don't know what the verdict will be on Rose's ankle, but I hope that it doesn't hold him back. Win or lose, I want to see them at full strength.

The Grizzlies...they are on a roll and their confidence is at an all-time high. They feel that they belong in the playoffs and that they can beat any other team. OKC is having some internal hierarchy issues that need to be resolved. I hope it's a good series.

2 upsets tonight. I'm fine with some unexpected excitement in the playoffs.

Oh yeah, congrats to the Kings fans. Hopefully, KJ and the city can work something out for them to solve the arena issue and keep them in Sacramento permanently.

I'm happy that the Kings will be staying in Sacramento for now. I really don't like it when franchises move. There's not much else in Sacramento other than the Kings, I really hope they can stay.

I think this year's playoffs is the like the year of the upset. Magic and the Spurs are eliminated in the first round, Mavs and Hawks win their respective game 1's against the Lakers and the Bulls. Heat beating the Celtics in game 1 pretty easily... At least it keeps things unpredictable and exciting.

And I'm glad the KIngs are staying for at least one more year. Man, C-Webb, Bibby, Peja, Christie and Divac, with B-Jax coming off the bench... Those were the days.

The NBA has been the most predictable of the 4 major sports, so I love it. Hopefully, we'll be in the playoffs next year to cause some upsets ourselves.
