How would we afford that though?

I could definitely see it next offseason, but we'd have to trade Bev, Lou and Zu to get Lowry now. Seems extremely unlikely, I don't know why Toronto would do that.

Considering we don't have any draft picks or salary to trade, I dont see a way for us get a player on a big contract, like Lowry or Westbrook type deals.
Yes we could trade Beverly or Lou for a starting PG, but then we can't fill the holes left by their departure.
Markiff Morris would be good if we could get him for vet min. I'd rather have him than Noah.

By my poor math, Bev + Lou + Mfi + Patton + Noah puts us at about a $27mil salary package?

No Move Gets Them A Point Guard

As Patton was brought in via trade, he can only be shipped out as an individual. So really, Clippers would be forced to part with Ivica Zubac to do any kind of trade. And even that won't be enough.

The total eligible value of Zubac-Beverley-Williams-Kabengele-Noah-Mann is $34 million. Take Zubac out, it becomes $27 million, and it won't be enough for Westbrook and Harden ($41 million each), not even for John Wall ($38 million).

The only way the Clippers can get a point guard is to blow the team up, either by trading George or Leonard. Leonard's off-limits, so that leaves George. But George had a rejuvenated season playing with Westbrook, so a trade for Westbrook using George is just brutal and ironic. You can't even trade George because Leonard wanted him here - ship him out, and Leonard will want out too.

This is why Clippers need to go a different path and look into acquiring a front court player with passing skills instead.

I'd do Lou + Detroit's second round picks to Detroit for Rose.

Keep in mind we are hard capped at just under $139 mil and you have to have 14 players on the roster. you cant do a five for one deal unless you have wiggle room to fill out the rest of the roster, or another trade is imminent (which leaves Kawhi, PG, Kennard).
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

Pistons made so many moves that I don't even know their roster, it seems like Rose and Griffin are odd men out, but then they signed Plumlee and Grant which don't seem like rebuilding signings.

Rose / Hayes (R) / Wright
Mykhailiuk / Smith
Grant / Doumbaya / Jackson
Griffin / Grant
Plumlee / Okafor

Such a mixed roster

Disappointed we haven’t made another move when we still need to fill out the roster

Pickings are slim

Lakers got Marc Gasol for a vet min deal, dumped Javale McGee onto CLE attaching a SRP to get some unguaranteed deals back. The word is that they did it to get under the apron in order to give Markieff Morris a raise, which they otherwise couldn't have if they still had McGee on the books.

If Lakers add Kieff and one of Boogie or Dedmon for the vet min that's trouble for the league.

Clips still have a BAE, i'd consider using it on RJax or Dedmon at this point. Then offer vet mins for Boogie, Noah, Lin, to round out the roster with depth.

Maybe trade Lou WIll + SRPs for DRose, thats a good idea, but not sure if DET is gonna bit, they seem like they want to compete.

What are the rules for BAE? Can we do that and the vet min based upon we are close to the cap?

i guess it depends on what your definition of bad is.

he was awful on defense and he threw up a few really bad shots. he also hit a few big shots. really the biggest problem is he was a horrible backcourt fit with lou williams. and even if we trade lou, we'd still have to pair him with kennard who is not a defensive guy.

we also kinda wanna develop terrance mann so i don't think reggie is gonna be coming back unless it's as a 3rd string option.

With 14 guaranteed contracts, I doubt the Clippers sign anyone else barring a salary dump trade.

And, in all honesty, I would be fully conttent rolling into next year with the current roster and use the final spot on a buy out guy

Don't believe either Patton nor Noah have fully guaranteed contracts.

Only 12 that I can see

Pat Bev - Lou - Mann
PG - Kennard
Kawhi -
Morris - Pat Pat - Mfi
Zu - Ibaka - Oturu

2-way - Coffey, Scrubb

(but I wouldn't mind Coffey getting a full contract at the end of the FA period if there's roster room)
