He can't handle the pressure of playing in Philly. It'll be like Tobias never left.

Probably not, will need his therapist on speed dial, but that's a good thing anyways, therapy is good for everyone.

Didn’t he tear his ACL end of March? Or am I thinking of someone else?

Yup. And Atlanta turned down his qualifying offer. I think we might be able to get him for under the MLE, maybe for the Bi-Annual. Atlanta was a hot mess last year and Bey was injured. But he's a young 3 and D guy that can play both forward positions well on both ends. I'd sacrifice part or even all of next season to get him locked in at a lower price. The Bi-Annual is 2 years/$9.6 million. I think there will be a ton of interest for him there. If we got him--sweet. He played in close to 95% of games in his first three years, so his injury issue isn't chronic. Getting him at a lower price would be a chess move, a good one IMO.

LOL. Watching PG deal with the Philly media/fanbase after every chokejob and disappearing act will be very entertaining, like it was with Doc.

don't recall off top of my head the last time i saw a fanbase this excited for an all-star player player to peace out like this, with no compensation

happy to move on, though not getting anything back is pretty painful.

that's sports, though, and in the end we still have a team that's positioned to be competitive, with a brand new arena, and an owner who is willing to put big monies on the line to improve the trajectory of our team year in and year out.

hard to complain about that!

Yeah it's a strange thing. Warriors fans are same about Klay's departure -- don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

Great that fans are so loyal to the front office, I suppose. But that's a recipe for no accountability for bad personnel moves.

btw one thing i'd wanna add is that i feel a lot of relief that the team didn't panic and give him the 4 years. this team just could NOT do that without totally messing with future flexibility in a bad way.

i mean i'll admit it's TOTALLY weird that it's like a ding-dong the witch is dead moment for plenty of people, but, hey, worse things coulda happened, and sometimes closure is the best kind of chapter one can hope for, even when the ending isn't necessarily happy.

this i don't understand at all, though, if you could give your point of view

i mean he was part of one of the scariest teams in the league, ever, and it wasn't his fault his knees gave out. i mean he's someone i never liked from the moment he entered the league, so why wasn't he getting complete grace right through the end?

It has nothing to do with loyalty. I've wanted Frank & co. fired for years. It's just the basic reality of the new CBA. Giving him the 4-year max would have sunk the team for years to come with the combination of second apron penalties and his untradeable contract. We just found out he has little trade value right now - imagine how bad it'd be when he's 37 and still overpaid.

David Pingalore was the first and really ONLY one to say Kawhi is signing w/ the Clippers back in 2019. So is this a lock?

Would rather have DeMar, but if Klay will take a lot less, then maybe worth it.

Yeah, Pingalore is usually spot on, even with how little he chimes in

Because he's not as good as he was before the injuries.

Because the Warriors gave him a $190 million contract after the ACL injury but before the Achilles, even though nobody complained about the contract in 2019.

Because he' doesn't try hard on defense and he just can't defend like he used to.

Because he's taking minutes from Moses Moody, who when given minutes can't come close to providing the shooting that Thompson still provides after the injuries.

Because he doesn't give a huge home down discount, even though it makes no difference whether he earns $50 million or $15 million because the team is capped out.

Now Klay is pouting because the Warriors didn't offer him a big extension.

But basically, analytics nerds demanding "what have you done for us lately?"

I'm just referring to the decision to let PG walk than get any assets back.

That decision may look bad if the role players they get with this "roster flexibility" from letting PG walk doesn't look good in January.

Great if the fans won't hold their feet to the fire for making the choice.

Their job security that is.

Wonder if they could do a S/T with the Bulls to get Demar? Use the MLE on Thompson? I think reports said GS was hoping to do a S/T with Thompson?

But they have to find a backup big too.

Don't think we can S&T due to aprons but this new CBA is basically written in Gaelic to me.
