It was a good win. Like I said DeRozan wws on fire Early on, he couldn't miss then kawhi got out on him. It's a solid win for the full squad. Another learning lesson where they can study the film.Max Headrom wrote:I know San Antonio is under 500 but, people are acting like they're the Wizards or something...lol They're still a hard out for any team in the NBA as long as Pop is coaching that team. I don't like trezz being in there where LMA had that mini stretch but I will give credit to doc for not overplaying Lou Williams. Lou Williams was horrible this game ln He's still in his slump and doc pulled him. I'm glad about that.

That is absolutely NOT what I said. I said I was wondering if there was more going on than just injuries.
Does every game thread need to turn into drama over a completely unimportant difference of opinion? Let's just enjoy the win and finally taking advantage of some help in the standings.

Aldridge didn’t touch the ball for 4 mins that’s insane in a quarter he had 14 points. DeMar was 0-6 on his last few shots he should of been off ball with them feeding Aldridge that was crazy idk what you are talking about

We did make this game harder on ourselves but that’s why you have superstars to bail you out. Pop should of played the inside game to draw more fouls when they were down 2. That roster should be better in the second half of the season

It wasn't ego. LMA got hot early in the qtr and made two straight baskets. After that I believed he missed a three and another turn over the shoulder fadeway. Demar went in create mode. Who else can create for them
Maybe that's more on pop than demar.

I agree. I believe if Zu played in the fourth, it's a much more comfortable lead. If we didn't have costly turnovers it's probably like a 7. Point win. But I'll take this. On to the next one. They'll watch film and get better. It's their second game fully healthy. I'm not going to overanalyze this win.TheNewEra wrote:Max Headrom wrote:I know San Antonio is under 500 but, people are acting like they're the Wizards or something...lol They're still a hard out for any team in the NBA as long as Pop is coaching that team. Sure, but this isn't his only three games of the season and I'm not the only fan who's had some concerns. And with how much we traded for him, there's going to be a little more scrutiny on his play than there'd otherwise be. It is what it is. I'm not a hater, I still have faith he can do what Lowry did last year and rewrite all those narratives playing with Kawhi.
PG stepped up when it mattered tonight. Let's enjoy the win.

Bit to even entertain narratives in the regular season is pretty ridiculous. He missed twenty games. Yes, he's not playing his best basketball but there's no reason to even put that "concern" out there as a question mark.
Honestly, he didn't play basketball for almost a month and even last game I think he had a decent game scoring the basketball and had 19 tonight.. but you put that out there.
Please take your own advice and just enjoy the ride. Give the guy time to find a rhythym before you start pondering narratives like that.
It took kawhi and shamet months to get in season form. It just so happens a kawhi that has a dip is still good enough to win ball games. He's just that elite.

I do believe Pop should of reigned them in some to close out. They went guard heavy with the shots because they hit some 3’s during the back and forth. Then they couldn’t finish some looks and we were hitting and it was such a small margin for error we snuck out the win.
Was a great for 3 quarters and the second half of the 4th

A little doublespeak by doc. Trez offense was not needed tonight. Defense was needed tonight.
We rallied to close the second quarter and cut it down to 7 with Zu in the game before being pushed back up to 9. Then took the lead in the third with Zu playing most of the third(which he normally does not do)
This matchup favored Zu tonight. I have to firmly disagree there. I'm not a hardcore Zu guy. I believe he and trezz are career back up centers. But tonight was his night.
We were doubling off shooters(!!) All because Zu wasn't defending LMA who even doc himself did a great job.
Kawhi, PG, shamet(or patbev) is enough offensively. Seriously.

Doc gave Zubac 23 minutes tonight, more than his usual 18, including 9 or 10 in the 3rd. Doc finally put Trezz back in when the Spurs started a run.
Doc isn't blind. He doesn't trust Zu in the 4th quarter but he'll leave him in as long as he can in the 3rd. [Just watch the running plus/minus.]

What MTV does is **** on the team using a lot of hyperboles and bs talking point narratives drummed up by the media.
Mtv, at some points, you're more concerned about being "right" then you are about the win. Was so happy to see the bucks get best by the nuggets because clipper fans expected a loss(who can blame them, it's the best team in the NBA right now) only for Denver to lose to Detroit.
That's NOT enjoying the game. That's NOT Enjoying the win. That's enjoying being petty about some trivial point to look "right."
But yeah I'm going to enjoy this win and hope we can add more wins this week.

I would blame that on doc over narrative. Narratives are easy cop outs. This isn't the playoffs where the playoffs are pressure. Making the assessment there is fair. In this game, I don't think it's fair. Not saying regular season narratives don't exist. Just saying I find it pretty lazy.og15 wrote:TheNewEra wrote:NippySudz wrote:The narrative game is annoying. Demar was hot all night. The only resistance he ran into was kawhi Leonard for the most part. PG couldn't guard him early on, Moe couldn't guard him. I don't think it's a stretch why they went back to him and tried to get him to create baskets after LMA cooled off a little bit but I agree the better choice was to exploit the LMA matchup. No one on the floor could guard him in the post. Not kawhi, not green, not trezz.only Zu did.
I'm not a fan of the demar foot on tbe line twos. Even if it goes in, why take that shot. It's a terrible shot. It didn't go in tonight but that must drive both coaches and analytics made. He's taking a three pretty much but has his foot on the line.

Douchebagging the coach DURING a game that we are going to end up winning is trollery. ffs
Can we all gather as a community and watch the game together and cheer for our team as fans, or is that asking too much out of a fan community?
Any mook off the streets can be negative. It takes no talent, no intelligence, or knowledge of basketball.
we won
