I like Ariza too, but will Shaun come here to be a backup? it looks like he is getting a ton of playing time as a PG and moving Deron to 2. the Nets are already way over the cap and have no picks to improve, I can't see them not retaining Shaun at all.

with Ariza, i can see if he absolutely wants to be a part of this team, he can force a sign and trade involving him and Dudley.

Honestly man the biggest issue to address first is the fact that the Clippers have alot of redundant wings.

They shoot jumpers, but not much else, aren't athletic and a huge one is they don't drive to the basket. Occassionally Barnes cuts to the hoop but he's an old man to be honest, you can't rely on that.

Why Doc continues to play Collison so much is beyond me, the guy does nice things then botches it up with a ton of not good things.

If it ends quickly enough trades are in order, but if that ownership thing looms the team is screwed next year.
Notes: Rookie Rudy Gay twisted his left ankle trying to guard McGrady late in the third quarter and limped to the bench. He returned with 5:51 left, then returned to the bench about a minute later - http://www.nba.com/games/20061231/MEMHOU/recap.html

Not sure if it's possible but I would be more than happy with Gordon Hayward as our starter.

arms not long enough. I want length.

http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Kyle-Anderson-6177/
this is the length I need on this team.

particularly with short Redick and T-Rex arms Blake.
I need a tall and long SF....must be both.

I know nothing about draft players, is he much better than Bullock will be in his second year? They seem similar to me. I'm a big fan of Bullock so I wouldn't mind drafting a decent big if that's possible.

Nah, Bullock is a catch and shoot wing that has potential to be a good defender at this level.

Kyle Anderson is a tall, long SF with a Boris Diaw like capacity to do it all (handle, shoot, post, board etc. etc.) and get his shot off. His 3 pointer needs to improve....and he isn't quick but he has a good feel for the game and can get to his spots to get his shot off...

I think this kid can be pretty good on this level and get more out of his game/ body than he ever thought of....especially under Doc's tutelage.

I wonder if Doc would be interested in trying to reunite with Perkins as our back up C. What do you guys think?

No. Not at all. We need an athletic big, and one who preferably hits FTs. Perkins is the exact opposite.

What would Clippers fans think of this trade?

Zaza Pachullia

for

Jared Dudley
Reggie Bullock

Clippers get rid of Dudley who has lost time to Matt Barnes and have the room and playing time for a cheaper, backup wing player behind Barnes with the MLE, give up a prospect that likely is stuck behind JJ Redick and Jamal Crawford at SG, but get a veteran backup C with 2 years left on his deal, not too bad, a big man who sets hard screens, can add size to the frontcourt, but most importantly, his FTs at a near 75% for his career and shows some passing potential. His FG% was poor this year, but that was the case with many of the Bucks, with a true PG like Chirs Paul, that number would likely go up on his likely limited shots. I could see Doc Rivers loving using a veteran big off the bench behind his star frontcourt for 20 minutes a game, but its a question of whether its worth it at the expense of your wing depth, though if you say brought back Danny Granger, your SG and SF spots would be two deep.

Rather keep Reggie. You can have Dudley for nothing though.

Thats why we would do it though. Bigs>Wings in the minds of almost all NBA personel people. And we would want a prospect, some upside in it for us in the trade.

Reggie has potential, and we all know dudley doesn't fit for us, and for whatever the reason Zaza is coming off the worst defensive rating season ever, but I think I would take this deal.

Doc doesn't use young players often, although he is known to be a great players coach for the vets in mold of Phil Jackson plus some of the very best play calling coming off a time out, he isn't a type of coach known to develop young players either. Zaza is a 30 year old 6-11 body with decent history of defensive ratings other than the last year, and is an upgrade over baby in terms of win share. we are basically giving up 2 spare parts that are not used for a 3rd big that is an upgrade over guys we currently have. if the bucks throw in a second rounder for this year, or better yet swap the first rounder ( lol fat chance on that wish ) I would jump on this deal in a heartbeat.
Zaza is the better rebounder, equal scorer, better free throw shooter, better passer. he is slightly worse in TO and terrible at blocked shots.

if we end up keeping baby davis at hollins price AND grab Zaza, our weakness of this season, which was the lack of depth at big, becomes a strength over night while we still keep plenty wing players in JJ, Jamal, and Barnes. we still need to go after Paul Pierce hard tho. Barnes needs to come back to the second unit for his defensive abilities.
ehhhhh f it.

if we can flip Hollins and Dudley for Zaza, that would be a blessing. but I am sure nobody is targeting Ryan and a very few if any would want dudley. if this trade is a reality, the bucks are targeting for Reggie, not dudley.

the question is tho, can we grab a player in this year's draft as what our position is, to pick a good enough of a big that can become better than zaza in say, 2 years? or sign a free agent without burning up our little cap room we have? if the answer is yes, we don't pull the trigger on this deal. Reggie has the potential to be our Thabo.
ehhhhh f it.

Of course. But I love Reggie. I'm a unc fan, always have been even when I lived in CT, so I was ecstatic when we drafted him. So I'm partial to him and would like to see him play and do well for us
