Aaron Gordon is the younger brother of Ex-UCLA/New Mexico Forward, Drew Gordon. He's been referred to as the next Blake Griffin (due to his complexion, athleticism, style and even #32) for quite awhile now. Like Blake, he's a skilled forward (although with holes in need of improvement) that does more than dunk, but will be criticized by asking if he can do anything other than dunk. He will be taking his talents to either Arizona, Washington or Kentucky next season.

I just read that he threw Oregon into the hat. I'm not sure UCLA had much of a chance.
In his words, "[his] brother didn't get it right the first time (UCLA), but he got it right the second time around (New Mexico). So [he] wants to make sure [he] doesn't make the same mistake."

Re: Around the NBA
Philly choked away a game against the Nuggets tonight. I didn't see it, but heard it was like a blatant tank job. With Denver's win, they clinch a playoff spot (3rd Western team to do so; SAS and OKC are the other 2). They remain .001 points behind Memphis for the 3rd spot. Due to Division champs maintaining a top 4 seed, Denver is still in 5th place. They lead us by 1/2 game meaning that they would host us if the playoffs began today.
We currently have the series lead over the Grizzlies (2-1) with one game remaining. Denver took the season series against us 2-1.
In the event of a tie, the tie-breaking scenarios play out as follows:
2 Team Tie
(1) Division leader wins tie from team not leading a division.
(2) Better winning percentage in games against each other.
(3) Better winning percentage against teams in own division (only if tied teams are in same division).
(4) Better winning percentage against teams in own conference.
(5) Better winning percentage against teams eligible for playoffs in own conference (including teams that finished the regular season tied for a playoff position).
(6) Better winning percentage against teams eligible for playoffs in opposite conference (including teams that finished the regular season tied for a playoff position).
(7) Better net result of total points scored less total points allowed against all opponents (“point differential”).
3 (or more) Team Tie
(1) Division leader wins tie from team not leading a division.
(2) Better winning percentage in all games among the tied teams.
(3) Better winning percentage against teams in own division (only if all tied teams are in the same division).
(4) Better winning percentage against teams in own conference.
(5) Better winning percentage against teams eligible for playoffs in own conference (including teams that finished the regular season tied for a playoff position).
(6) Better net result of total points scored less total points allowed against all opponents (“point differential”).
_______________________________________________
Therefore, let's say that Memphis or Denver finishes in third place with the Clippers and the remaining team tied for fourth place. The Clippers would receive home court (even if tied with Denver who won the season series) because they won their division.
If all teams end the season with identical records, the Clippers would receive the 3rd seed despite any head-to-head win/loss record with either of the Nuggets and Grizzlies.

Re: Around the NBA
Cool so winning the pacific (once we clinch it) gives us tiebreaker and HCA (3 seed) in event of a two or three way tie?
Did I read that correctly...

We would receive the highest available seed with whatever team we tied with.
If the 4th and 5th place teams are tied (e.g. LAC and Denver), then Clips would host Denver in round 1.
If all 3 teams are tied at the end of the season, Clippers would get 3rd seed and then Denver would be 4th and Memphis 5th.
It won't mean anything if the Clippers don't do there part, but it's the ace up our sleeve if we can't manage to pull ahead but can match at least one of them. We beat Memphis on the road last year and it wasn't easy, but nobody wants to face Denver on the road in the playoffs.

Marc Gasol out indefinitely with an abdominal tear.
never wishing injury.
but that is a plus in Clipper nations favor coming down the stretch coupled with the winning the division advantage

Re: Around the NBA
What a good offensive system looks like:

Barnes would be a great cutter in the offense. Would allow Paul to be on the ball less, but still have the same playmaking and scoring opportunities. A big to stretch definitely helps the offense though, but even without that, it promotes more movement and really gets shooters open.
