I'm hoping this still rings true. Sounds like me dealing with all my Laker fan friends and family growing up... Makes me like Kawhi more.

Clippers need to focus on KD.
Think again or maybe try thinking, in general, for a change.

We will see what happens June 30th. I’m hoping Raptors keep him but if he leaves want Clippers to nab him.
If he goes to the Knicks or the Lakers I will definitely feel disgusted.
Likewise, if he doesn't come to the Clippers, the best outcome for the league as a whole is him staying in Toronto.

Re: Yet Another Example of Lakers Fans' Natural Troll State
As an "in the know" resident of Riverside, I can tell you that Kawhi to the Lakers has been in the works for two years and Kawhi needed to see the Lakers land a big fish first. The developments in Toronto have increased the odds he doesn't wind up in LA though. Lakers are looking passed LeBron, and so is Kawhi - pairing with AD eases the requirements during the regular season. Playing in Toronto will end up being much of the same as it would for the Clippers and his camp realizes that. It's either back to Toronto on a short term deal or the Lakers.

Lookie here. We have another village idiot--he/she/it of 3 total posts--posting in another act of supreme idiocy. Mr. "In the Know" apparently doesn't even know that the Lakers don't have enough salary-cap space to offer even a B-level free agent as of yet and are looking to have difficulty filling out the rest of the roster given the sparse amount of funds that will be available. Apparently, Kawhi will sign for the mid-level exception or something.
Seriously, what is the point of even posting this drivel? Who exactly are you trying to fool and why even waste the time? What's even more ridiculous is the idea of this so-called plan being in the works when the Lakers have shown themselves to be the most dysfunctional franchise in the entire NBA who happened to fall backwards into LeBron and AD thanks to Rich Paul and Klutch.
Try practicing at the "kiddie table" forums before you step up and attempt to converse with the adults.

Well, he's a Laker fan. In his defense, I think he was kidding about being "in the know." OTOH, he doesn't seem to know the Lakers' finances are already a dumpster fire, although I think it's inhospitable to our guest to be calling him the village idiot. We have a couple of our own around here.

I majored in psychology. There has been some things he’s done in interviews that made me think that but definitely not that situation.
5 more year situation with us uncle holding up Jo’s hands too makes me feel something was said to Lowry to make him do that.
And if his uncle knew there was no way he was resigning he would never do that no matter how drunk he may have been.
Or his uncle doesn't know. Because Kawhi doesn't know himself.
I don't think KL's gaming anyone. He gave the Toronto crowd zero indication he's coming back. He urged everyone to enjoy the moment. Just like he is doing. Frankly, I think he would have had a much better time if he knew he was coming back. But he didn't let himself get caught up in the moment and maybe give the fans false hope.
And I would caution anyone with a background in psychology from opining on someone they didn't directly examine. Ethically/professionally, it's called the Goldwater Rule.
First Of all Kawhi has no body language.lol..so all this psychology thing is pure BS.
Second, Its really simple guys..if his priority is to live in California he will join Clippers.
Everything else points to Raptors at least for another 1-2years.
Nothing Raptors can do more that they didnt already from day one to convince him now.
Nothing Clippers can do Raptors didnt to convince him otherwise
I think he is live in the moment guy, so he will address free agency on June 30rd and enjoy these 10 days with his family celebrating.
Nothing else to read into it.
I also believe meeting with few teams is more due diligence thing especially with NY teams.
As I already said here, I am positive Kawhi will play for LAC in his NBA career. i just hope it will be in 2021 earliest:)
Peace,

You seem to have issues with how the salary cap works. The Lakers can excecute the deal on July 6th as an over the cap team if they get a committment from a free agent prior to that date. At least before you throw out a ton of mouthbreathing insults you should fact check your mumbo jumbo garbage. I tried to be nice and come here to tell you that Kawhi isn't a moron, and Dennis is all about the money and that voice matters in Kawhi's ear, they would never dwarf his own career by joining the Clippers while LeBron and AD are on the more well known team in the same city, but think what you want. You'll see in a few weeks who was "kidding."

stop it kid. just stop. i know you're oblivious because AD heading your way but why on earth would Kawhi sign less than $30M per year to be #3 in a team who may not even be able to complete a 14 man roster? Even at that AD, Bron and Kawhi all had injuries in the last couple of years so if 1 of them goes... WHAT TO DO BAAAABYYY???

Re: Kawhi Leonard?
Glad there are raptors and clipper fans can have a reasonable discussion here. Do agree with everything you say. Definitely can see Kawhi join the clippers, i sense he wants to join clippers but he needs better reasons. Here's what i think Ballmer needs to do to snag Kawhi:
- (Note this is my IMO) Get UJIRI. If his contract expires in 2 years, go after Ujiri with everyone. Ujiri has a strong relationship with uncle Dennis, Kawhi. Prove he has the guts to put his rep on the line to get him, build a team/infrastructure around him, to win the team.
Yes i know Ballmer has Logo for a nice 1 hour presentation but Ujiri's the guy you absolutely need to get. Give him $15-20M.
On top of that, Ujiri can also get you Giannis possibly too.
- Continue to build your team smartly. You have a 2-3 year window, before Kawhi gets too old, and your youngters are going to want extensions. Get young players who can be key (role) or starters to support Kawhi. Give a good basketball reason
- Media - show Kawhi that you have the media connections (kinda like Lakers AEG) to build Kawhi's brand. That's going to be important to Kawhi too

Hyperventilating is the word.
Considering how for the past year the Clippers have openly expressed interest in him, I'm sure there's at least concern there.
I know Kawhi is a simple guy, humble origins and all that. Seems like he wouldn't mess with moving or packing up himself, as opposed to hiring movers.

LOL. It's so Kawhi.
Why NBA star Kawhi Leonard still drove a 20-year-old car after signing a $94 million contract
“It runs … and it’s paid off,” the famously reticent Leonard told Sports Illustrated when asked to explain why a millionaire professional athlete would hang onto a nearly 20-year-old SUV.
