Hell yeah! We kept Bev. That guy is one of those dogs who always shows up in Playoffs (when it matters most). I may not trust him guarding KD, but I trust him guarding oldBron, PG, and other elite players. Board man.

Thank god, if the Lakers get Kawhi, literally all the players they were looking at depth wise (as were we) have vanished. So if Kawhi goes to the Lakers, it'll be pretty thin.. and they'll be beatable by not just us, but a lot of teams out in the west and east. Depth matters. This is where Clippers show Kawhi what they're all about.

I hope Danny Green goes to the clippers. He has a net worth of $25 mil and is looking to get paid for the long term he said. 25 ain't much honestly. Facts: Lakers only have space for one max.. Kawhi can't bring any of his friends. How much does he value Danny Green? A lot. Offer him 8 mil, kawhi with the max, then combine the last 3 mil + MLE and get Cousins. Actually.. they could probably just renounce some more players?

****, swoop in on Butler. Deandre 2.0.

I don’t know why people are freaking out over today. KD has his mind made up beforehand so that was a no go. Our FO has had one goal for two years now, Kawhi or bust, and that’s exactly what they’re doing!

Who do some of you guys want? Butler? For months we’ve all said we didn’t want him, and apparently he decided he wanted to play in Miami after watching the way they treated D Wade. He wasn’t coming here, and we didn’t waste our time. Horford? That’s exactly the type of contract that needs to be moved in a year or two. He’s an older player with a history of injuries and concussions. If we wanted to pay money to an injured big, we’d call about getting Blake back.

The front office said that the original plan was to be players in the 2021 offseason. We did way better than expected so they’re taking a shot at moving the process ahead by a couple of years. This IS plan B! If Kawhi goes to the Lakers or stays in Toronto, we run back the same gritty team as last year. We make a trade or two for a bad contract to pick up some extra firsts. And in 2021 we try again.

I really enjoyed last years team and wanted to see as many of them come back, only making changes where they fit. Change for change shape is what happened in 2016 and half the league had buyers regret two months in!

Yeah I don't get it either, fully agree with everything you wrote. By virtue of not doing anything stupid, we're doing very well already. There's gonna be a lot of bad contracts that we're gonna look back at today and say "what were they thinking??". Plan A is still on the table too.

Don't wanna repeat myself but I've been saying all year that I didn't want Butler or KD, I was good with Kawhi because I thought his personality wouldn't get in the way of our long term goals, but otherwise, just be patient and keep building things with the future in mind. So far they're doing exactly that.

I don't want Danny Green by the way, he's old, inconsistent and plays a position where we have like 4 or 5 guys already, including poor Jerome whose career is gonna be buried by circumstances. I really wanted Aminu with our remaining capspace, Kawhi or not Kawhi. He's the sort of defensive wing we need and he went really really cheap.

By the way, I don't think the Nets had as great an offseason as a lot of people are saying. I wouldn't want their offseason for us tbh, getting a lot of big names is often not the best plan.

I don't think Irving's value over the next 4 year is gonna be a lot greater, if at all, than Russell's. KD is a question mark, he's gonna miss a season, spend another trying to get back into form, and by the time he can get back to being a top player (if he ever does), it's his 3rd season and he might opt out at the end of it. You just spent all those resources into maybe a season of old who-knows-what-he-has-left Durant. And DJ... let's be honest here, I love the guy but giving him a 4 year contract when you have Jarrett Allen -who might be a better player than him already- might not be the best idea and could stunt Allen's development. They raised their ceiling to maybe a championship contender (and maybe that's the final goal, so it's a good idea for them overall), but things could go wrong for them and they'd have no flexibility to get out of it.

Not sure if guys wanted us to be all over the news, but real Gs move in silence, like lasagna

So far, my ideal Clippers offseason is still on the table.

Share those same sentiments. I’d rather get nothing than make bad signings that you have to try and get out of in the future

People are freaking out because it came out that Kawhi needed a second star to come here and we whiffed on every single one of them.

No real bargains out there. Guys are signing for huge money. I'm glad Pat is back but he got paid pretty well also if he is considered a 4th guard on this team. I do not think many people want to see Pat starting at SF next season. If the team did sign KL and nothing else they have a playoff team.

Does Dwight Howard have anything left? Maybe the team should see if the Wizards would move him cheap? I ask but I have not seen him play much the last 2 years.

Dwight is washed, and would be a horrible fit for our culture anyway.

Well, Austin Rivers will continue to be someone else's problem and not ours.

So that's a positive.

That Seth Curry deal is interesting.

Mavs let Curry walk a year ago because they thought they had all these small guards already.

Are they spending just to use up cap space since they didn’t land a big fish?

Good move. He's super happy in Houston, will get his PT as first G off the bench on a top contender [and when CP misses his usual 20 games a year]. After a bad half-season @ Wiz, an OK half-season @ HOU, and then a terrific playoffs, a full solid year with the Rockets should get his career fully back on track.

2019-20 is probably the closing of HOU's window and his second year is a player option, so one year of salary purgatory with a chance of a chip is a good investment in the rest of his career. He could be a hot commodity next summer, when he turns only 28 with low miles on his tires. [People forget he started in the NBA when barely turned 20.]

I think the Celtics did well getting Kanter at 5 mill per. His toughness is an underrated asset in my opinion. I liked that he refused to back down from Lebron and the Cavs.

If KP is healthy then he is a pretty big fish. Do they have a center?
