Q&A with Vinny Del Negro

Post#1 » by mkwest » Fri Jul 9, 2010 2:42 am

Andrey P., Van Nuys, CA: What changes do you think you will see from coaching the Bulls to coming here to coach the Clippers?

Vinny Del Negro:
It is going to take time. I have a pretty good feeling on the roster, we still have free agent things and how the whole team is going to be together. Get to know them and get to watch them a little bit try to put them in areas they can be successful. We will focus on the defensive end of the floor. Start with rebounding and focus on that. We have a lot of young players, a lot of developing to do but a nice nucleus.

Josh Twin, West Los Angeles, CA:
How do you plan on using Eric Gordon offensively?

VDN: Let him play. He is a physical kid. He is strong, explosive, has great range. He is young and there are a lot of areas he can work on in his game and improve and he will. He is a good kid and has good character and will work on the right things. He is an explosive player, we know that. I think he is only going to continually improve and I look forward to working with him.

Don Allen, Avila Beach, CA:
Who you would like to see the Clippers sign as a free agent with all the cap space that they have?

VDN: We are a little thin in the small forward area, starting small forward, we know that. Maybe another perimeter guy, combo guy, or whatever. Neil is working hard on that. We will continue to work on that and do the right things and things that make sense. Not only for this year but to give us flexibility moving forward.
