Kaman Not Playing for Germany - Mavs Tries to Acquire Him?

Dirk Nowitzki's decision to skip this summer’s World Championships in Turkey means that Chris Kaman will stop asking the (relieved) Clippers to let him play for Germany, too.
Had Nowitzki played in Turkey, Kaman badly wanted to join him again.
Sources say that the Mavericks, meanwhile, have continued to register trade interest in Kaman, which happened as recently as earlier this month before Dallas’ flirtations with an Al Jefferson trade and its eventual acquisition of Tyson Chandler.
The Clippers, though, continue to forcefully reject any attempts to acquire Kaman, who became an All-Star center last season and ranks as one of Nowitzki’s closest friends in the league after they co-led Germany to a berth in the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
Nowitzki announced in Germany on Tuesday that he plans to return to the national team next season for the 2011 European Championships in hopes of leading his country to qualification for the 2012 Olympics in London.

I'd trade Kaman for Chandler, Caron, and a first round pick.
Seems a lot but Dirk really wants Kaman and they'll have to overpay.

I'd demand Roddy Beaubois from them, and I doubt they'll give him up.

Chandler, Caron, and a first round pick wont be overpaying and I think Dallas would do it in a heartbeat.
However, I would want Caron, Beaubois and a first round pick.

If we got a lot back for Kaman I wouldn't mind trading him.

Now that I think about it, you are right. We'd have to take on more $ albeit Chandler is in the last year. I'm not sure what Caron's deal is. In the end, they could walk and we get nothing.

Caron has an expiring contract of $10.562M this season. Chandler is at $12.6M

Thanks MK. Damn, that's a lot of $. It doesn't even matter how much cap space it will bring next summer cause Melo or other superstars won't come here.
I guess if Dallas wants Kaman, a 3rd team will be needed.
If Kaman and Dirk wanted to play together, why didn't Dirk just sign with us? Blake can play SF on Dand Dirk can play SF on O since he doesn't like being in the post anyways.

So some of you guys are alright with trading Kaman for...
Tyson "i'm always injured and can't do anything else then Alley-Oops on offense" Chandler
Caron "I sucked donkey balls last year and will be gone next summer" Butler
Plus a glorified 2nd round pick not being worth that much, as it's a guaranteed contract
Really?
I mean, Beaubois might be a nice prospect, but we've already got a similar one in Eric Bledsoe and the rest of the Mavs, outside of Nowitzki(who doesn't fits thanks to Blake Griffin), just doesn't include anything i'd trade Kaman for.
So if we're to trade Kaman, then it's not going to be to the Mavs(there's a reason we always turn them down), as long as there isn't a third team involved.

I would do Caron-Chandler-1st round pick for Kaman instantly. CK is a very good player, but I really hope the "Kaman as a first option" era is dead and buried ater Dunleavy's firing.. throwing the ball to Kaman in the post 15 times to get 19 points isn't that good, and this team is made to play up-tempo, where Griffin and EJ could excel and BD can give a sense to his Clippers days. Also Aminu and Bledsoe would fit better with that style.

And who do you have playing center for us?
DJ(who hasn't improved over the last two years) and Brian Cook?
I think some people really undervalue having a solid center like Kaman on your squad.
Of course he's not perfect and he's making mistakes on defense, but he's still able to command a double team on offense, rebounds quite well and is better then at least 20 other teams starting centers.
BTW: Late first rounders aren't all that valuable to me. I'd rather have a pick between 31 - 35 instead of 25 - 30. You get about equal talent but they're way cheaper and are non guaranteed contracts.

I actually like Caron Butler.. he didn't settle in Dallas, but I'd like to have him at SF wih Baron, EJ and Griffin running up and down the court. Chandler stil a big expiring contract, and a 20-25 pick would be okay as well.
Not gonna happen tough, and I'm stil ok with the Caveman. I'd just like him to be used in a different way, and hopefully with a new staff he will. Hopefully.
