Should we trade Baron and Kaman and rebuild?

IMO our team will go nowhere with Kaman and Baron. I say we should dump salary and rebuild. We have a franchise player we can build around with Griffin, an elite young SG in E.Gordon and young prospects in Aminu and Bledsoe. Anyone else think its a good idea?

Honestly I wouldn't mind at this point. There are only a handful of teams competing for a championship. The best we could do is just make the playoffs, and that's not even looking too great right now.

I don't think we'd get anything decent for either of them though. Isn't Kaman an expiring this year? Plus he's having one of the worst starts in his entire career this season.

I'd give it time, we have up until the trade deadline and both their values are at a all time low. If its going horribly up till then i'd say yes its definitely time to clean house and completely rebuild from the ground up.

Kaman's value certainly isn't at his all-time low. That was last offseason, when nobody knew if he could make it through a full season with all those injuries he had before.
So it's pretty much the other way around, cause I'd say his trade value is at an all-time high.

Baron on the other hand, we'd need some real foolish team to trade him without getting back even worser contracts and players...

Miami needs a pg. If it wasnt for the trade restrictions we could trade BD for:

Joel Anthony
James Jones
Eddie House
Zydrunas Ilgauskas
Carlos Arroyo
Juwan Howard
Jamaal Magloire
Jerry Stackhouse

Not really, miami doesn't need a ball handler, they want shooters basically. Once mike millers back they will be stupid good, and james jones is already doing great for them. Baron doesn't shoot 3's well at all, and lebron or wade is gonna be bringing the ball down the court probably 90-95% of the time.

Kaman, maybe because they could use a legit center, but that will never happen either probably.

I posted this in the trade thread
Clippers trade
Baron Davis
Chris Kaman
Rasual Butler

Mavericks trade
JJ Barea
Tyson Chandler
Caron Butler
1st round pick

We get back expirings and a 1st. We might even resign Caron if he fits well with the team.

Not bad PG3

something that really frustrates me with Baron is we've all seen such positive plays from him, where he looks like the GSW Baron, the no look passes, clutch shots, getting teammates involved.. but he's playing so poorly lately and got no-one really to blame but himself. We've got the youth and future with Gordon and Griffin so you'd think if he was motivated this would be the time..
I'm happy if we trade Kaman, teams know his talent and he's obviously not consistant with us enough, it'd be interesting to see what we could get for him.

What about a team like the Thunder for Kaman? they could use a veteran center who can contribute with a solid double double but he's not the main option on offence by a long shot.. idk if it could work but just thought i'd give it a mention

I'd love to get Green (+ MoPete) from OKC but I doubt they'll let him go.

I would love to blow it up and trade those two. I think Baron Davis to the Charlotte Bobcats is possible and quite a few teams would be willing to take Chris Kaman off our hands. The team needs to get younger and quickly, build around Eric Gordon & Blake Griffin.

I don't think we need to blow up the team. While Kaman hasn't been shooting well, there's not many better options at C in this league. If we can move Baron and improve the PG and SF spots, we should be able to compete and win games. We just need a smarter PG who can actually shoot. BD has really been disappointing.

Yes we should trade them both. I want to keep Kaman but the only way to dump Baron is to give up Kaman. He's a real asset to a contender but we suck too bad to really use his value.

I don't really see much point in trading them at this point. Simply playing rookies and letting them get beat every week isn't going to magically make them better. Stick with the current roster for a while and if an opportunity presents itself then take it.

ABSOLUTELY. However to be realistic only Washington would be willing to take Baron but Arenas would be a better player albeit not the best role model. However, is an out of shape, don't give a damn, over the hill player worse for young players than a crazy one??

Kaman probably can be traded and he must be the worst player ever to get the stats he has this year. He's terrible.

I don't think the decision to keep or trade Davis and Kaman has much to do with changing the amount of wins. Neither will positively contribute to many wind this year.

It will be nearly impossible to trade Baron and his bloated contract. Plus, Baron is looking to pass first more this season which I kinda like. However, Kaveman might be a little easier to move by the trade deadline then just have DJ start for us with Collins backing him up.

Yeah, Baron has no or negative trade value so that is a non-starter.

Kaman has some value, I've been wanting to trade him for awhile now (if we can get fair value.) I like him, but don't think he fits in with our line-up. I'm still not sure what the point is of having Baron Davis in the same starting line-up as Chris Kaman.

Agreed, Baron worked a lot better with Biedrins. A guy I think would suit him well is Gortat. Mobile big man, can play defense.

I think Recently brought up a very good point. I'm always for patience, I know we haven't had that great of a season yet but we're only 3 games in. I expected Baron and Kaman to play better but they haven't. I say see where the team is at by the all start break and evaluate it from there. My hope is that the team finds itself and really starts to play well. I think we can, er do have talented players they just need to figure it out.

It would make sense to play the rookies right now and let them learn the NBA game along with having chemistry with one another. Signing Randy Foye and Ryan Gomes was terrible and this team just doesn't look like it's going to mesh well so why not go with a starting line-up of Eric Bledsoe, Eric Gordon, Al Farouq-Aminu, Blake Griffin & DeAndre Jordan? I rather them play together with Vinny teaching these kids. One other thing I noticed is we don't have a lot of assistant coaches to help. :(
