I'm sure many of you are aware that the All-Star game will be in Los Angeles this year. Blake, Bledsoe and possibly even Aminu may be playing in the rookie game on Friday night. Any other Clipper participation is anybody's guess at this point. We may have some representation in the shootout.

Anyway, All-Star voting has begun and there is 66 days left to vote. Baron Davis, Eric Gordon, Blake Griffin and Chris Kaman are the current Clipper players on the ballot.

You can view the entire ballot at NBA.com

I'm happy that Chris Kaman is on the All Star Ballot this year, it still remains to be seen if he will be an All Star this year.

Pretty sure that isn't happening again this year...

I hope Blake gets some more exposure at this year's ASW. Almost every game he makes the ESPN Dunk of the Night! That should be worth something.

The first returns are in.

If the starters were to be named today:

West
C - Yao Ming (Rockets) 430,984
F - Kevin Durant (Thunder) 470,881
F - Pau Gasol (Lakers) 390,808
G - Kobe Bryant (Lakers) 722,682
G -Chris Paul (Hornets) 386,649

East
C - Dwight Howard (Magic) 611,561
F - LeBron James (Heat) 607,994
F - Kevin Garnett (Celtics) 456,111
G- Dwyane Wade (Heat) 570,489
G- Rajon Rondo (Celtics) 497,141

Chris Kaman has 87,536 votes and has the 7th highest total amongst Western centers.
Eric Gordon has 113,510 votes and has the 8th highest total amongst Western guards.
Blake Griffin has 245,167 votes and has the 6th highest total amongst Western Forwards.

Blake is only a couple thousand from Duncan. I'm not that surprised that he has been getting votes, but it's cool to see him getting so many. Gordon has quite a bit less, but he's in good company behind some great players. The Western Conference centers are terrible. The top 2 vote-getters have only played a handful of games this season. Yao, I just hope that he'll be able to play another NBA game.

What surprises me in the West is Gasol and Yao. To me Yao is an afterthought since he hasn't played much the past few years. I guess I forgot that Yao has a whole country voting for him. Well he won't be playing for the rest of the season so he will have to be replaced by somebody.

As far as Gasol goes I never really thought of him as a starter, but the other good PF's in the West play for bad teams and Duncan's numbers are down.

Final Return had Blake Griffin with 1,033,646 votes and in 4th place behind Gasol (3rd), Anthony (2nd) and Durant (1st). Not bad for a Clipper and not bad at all for a rookie. He was about 260K votes behind 2nd place Carmelo Anthony. Based on these numbers, Blake could very well be voted in as a starter next season.

The Skills Challenge field is wide open. Chris Paul will return as the defending champion. He will be joined by 4 other contestants that will be voted for by the fans. The nominees are Baron Davis (LAC), Derek Fisher (LAL), Derrick Rose (CHI), Russell Westbrook (OKC), Tony Parker (SAS), John Wall (WAS), Stephen Curry (GSW) and Tyeke Evans (SAC). Baron Davis won the contest in 2004 while he was a member of the New Orleans Hornets.

You can vote as often as you like. It would be nice to see a few of the guys participate during all-star weekend. Griffin is going to be in the dunk contest and likely the all-star game. Bledsoe and Aminu both have a great chance to be in the rookie challenge. There's a possibility that somebody else on the team will represent us in the shooting stars contest.

I am pretty sure its gonna be fun and I have tickets for the all star game, but I haven't decided between going to the game and selling the tickets yet.
This is gonna be allstar weekend with most Clipper participants.

Blake is a given, although I'm wondering if he'll sit out of the rookie game if he is invited to play with the big boys on Sunday. Congratulations to Bledsoe for making it to the rookie challenge. I was hoping that Aminu would have a chance also, but those hopes may have dried up when he went back to the bench after starting 14 games. A lot of rookies have stepped up since then.

10 years ago, i would say to go to the game but now i'd say you should strongly consider selling. if they're in the 200's or better, you can make crazy money off of those. i'm talking buy-a-car crazy. you won't make as much if they're in the 300's but still a decent amount. the view from up there sucks balls anyways. it's a good idea to check ebay listings for similiar seats to get a price range on 'em.

as a clippers fan, it probably won't even be as memorable as a closely contested regular season game to you. hell, you can go to like 20 clippers games (or 10 games and a lot of coke) with the money you'll make. unless selling the tix will piss off whoever gave them to you or you're absurdly rich, i think it's a no-brainer.

Congrats, Blake! I would argue that he wasn't extremely far from being an all-star starter. Too bad Kevin Love didn't make it - He was very deserving, as well, and I would have "loved" (excuse the pun) to see he and Blake at the 4 and 5 playing together.

BLAKE GRIFFIN SELECTED TO 2011 WESTERN CONFERENCE ALL-STAR TEAM
Griffin Becomes First Rookie Named An All-Star Since 2003

Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin has been selected as a reserve to the Western Conference Team for the 2011 NBA All-Star Game by a vote of the league’s head coaches. Griffin will be the first rookie to appear in an NBA All-Star Game since Yao Ming in 2003.

Griffin, 21, is enjoying one of the most dominant rookie seasons in NBA history, averaging 23.0 points, 12.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists while shooting 51.8 percent (422-814 FG) from the field. Griffin is the only player in the NBA to average at least 20 points, 12 boards and over three assists this season and ranks second in the league with 40 double-doubles. Griffin scored an NBA season-high 47 points on Jan. 17 and has been named the Western Conference T-Mobile Rookie Of The Month three straight times.

Griffin is the 10th Clipper in franchise history to be selected to the All-Star Game and the fourth Clipper All-Star since 1993, joining Chris Kaman (2010), Elton Brand (2002, 2006) and Danny Manning (1993,1994).

During All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles, Griffin is also scheduled to participate in the T-Mobile Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam on Friday, Feb. 18 along with Clippers teammate Eric Bledsoe and the Sprite Slam Dunk contest on Saturday, Feb. 19 at STAPLES Center.

The NBA All-Star Game will air live on TNT on Sunday, Feb. 20 at 5:00 p.m. PT from the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles.

We have All-Stars two years in a row. I was kind of scared that Blake wouldn't make it, but he did. I do feel bad that Love didn't make it, he may be named to replace Yao.
