Sterling taunting BD from courtside seat

Clippers owner Donald Sterling has been taunting Baron Davis from his courtside seat in recent games, saying things like "Why are you in the game?" and "You're out of shape!"
Davis declined to talk about Sterling, but a source says the criticism is taking its toll. "I just got to be a little more free when I’m out there," said Davis. "I’m just trying too hard...I got to get in that flow. The flow is messed up, man." He's starting again, which is at least a step in the right direction.

Sterling should just go away. If anything, BD is our biggest chance to be resepctful this year. Bledsoe is so far from a starting pg right now it isn't even funny and BD takes care of the ball better than anyone else on the team. We need a motivated BD, and Sterling spewing his crap from his courtside seat isn't going to help him.
Sterling has expressed his displeasure about Davis’ play by taunting him from his courtside seat at Clippers’ home games, several sources told Yahoo! Sports. Among Sterling’s verbal barbs:

– “Why are you in the game?”

– “Why did you take that shot?”

– “You’re out of shape!”

While Sterling has also taunted other Clippers players since the middle of last season, none have received it worse than Davis, the sources said.

“There’s nothing I can say,” Davis said of Sterling’s taunts. “I have no comment on that. You just get to this point where it’s a fight every day. It’s a fight. You’re fighting unnecessary battles. I’m fighting unnecessary battles.

Sterling “started getting a lot more vocal during the second half of last season,” one team source said. “He never had done that before at games. Baron’s his pet project. He absolutely hates Baron. He wants to get his money back.”

Wow, is he getting even more senile? As an owner, you need to know when to separate yourself as being an owner versus a fan. How do you expect anybody to play for you when you treat them like that? Mark Cuban may be a crazy NBA fan and an owner, but I don't think I've ever heard him degrade his own players. That's just stupid.

Hey, what's new?

Just another article about how we've got the worst owner in pro sports(together with Al Davis after Shinn sold the Hornets), which makes us look bad and like a joke.

Even as I can understand his frustrations towards Davis, who's played like crap since he arrived here, Sterling should shut the F*** up and let the guys play.

Hawks fan here, (coming in peace, but if y'all think this is trolling I'll leave) with a question: IS Davis out of shape?

If so, why?

I hate Baron. He's a fat ass and a crook. Easily the worst FA signing in Clippers history. Anything to see him go.

Dammmmmmmmn. This sucks. Good luck attracting free agents now Mr. Sterling. Players will only sign with the CLipps as a last resort :(.

He's out of shape. I think last season he was okay, but his first season as a Clipper and this season he reported to training camp overweight and out of shape. He spends his summer working on side projects and traveling and whatever, so he's not ready at the beginning of the year. Vinny Del Negro called him out this summer, and even Baron admitted it himself.

Dissing the guy from the sidelines is not going to help your cause. If you wanna make more money and have your players somewhat live up to the expectations, get on their asses with positive criticism, come up with ideas to improve the team...****, if you need to run your mouth that bad, act like Cuban, but what Sterling is doing is completely counterproductive and doesn't help a God damn bit at all, regardless of whether Davis deserves it or not. Seriously, if you can't stand him on your team that bad, send him home, otherwise, make it better, not worse.

Sterling needs to take a hint from Jerry Jones. At least he knows how to deal with a bull team somewhat graciously.

A lot of you have made good points. This isn't going to help our team or make players play better by having Sterling yell and heckle at them. We are already seen as a losing franchise with a bad owner, Sterling is not helping our case by doing this. No player is going to want to sign with the Clippers if they know the owner is yelling at them during games. Also I'm sure that Sterling is made that he is paying baron $13 million and he hasn't played that well this season.

I can see how Sterling would think that this is motivation, maybe he thinks that yelling at players will get them to play better. If he wants to motivate players try being positive not negative.

The Clippers franchise is a reflection of Donald Sterling, his feeling and attitude are something that the whole organization feels. Either Sterling needs to change or we need a new owner.

As a fan, u just cant help but taunt BD and the other Clippers players struggling amounting to losses. But he IS the owner of the frigging team. He's part of the brain power that built the roster. Im glad he's into the game, but he along with the upper execs of the Clips should work together on creating and supporting a talented roster, instead of what he's doing.

The Clippers fans should be heckling Baron every game. DS should just be one voice among many.

I don't even bother to read these articles anymore. It's not shocking and there's not much to do, but shake my head. Sterling is someone who lives in his own little world that has his own set of rules or maybe there are no rules at all. In all honesty, he's shown himself to be the type of person to cut off his nose to spite his face.

Everyone that has watched the Clippers regularly for the past 2 1/2 seasons have been frustrated with Baron Davis. As the owner, you should have more tact. I feel for our players. We all want to see this team become a winner and for players to want to play here. How is that supposed to happen when you have Mr. Burns for a team owner? Players don't know if and when they will be publicly disrespected. How do the other guys feel when their teammates are belittled by the ignorant owner who has a chronic case of foot-in-mouth disease? It's not endearing the hearts of current players, draft picks or potential free-agents. Sterling's reputation already speaks for itself, if he is not going to do anything to change that then he may as well just keep his words to himself.
