Playoffs?

Don't look now...we're only 5 games away from the 8th seed in the loss column!! Think we just have to go 30-16 in the last 46 games to make it a date against the Spurs. We've certainly done that.. kept the 70% winning percentage in the last 10 games, time to do that 4 times over!!!
Blake Griffin vs Tim Duncan!!!!
Who's with me?

6.5 games out of the 8th seed. We'd have to jump at least 5 teams in order to get into the 8th spot. We have played very well lately (7-3 in last 10). We've gave up nice leads in a couple of those losses, but each was definitely winnable. We do have some things working against us. We have been severely struggling on the road (3-11) and 27 of our remaining games are on the road. The stretch of 11 road games in February has beatable opponents, but it's still an insanely long road trip where our guys have had trouble.
Anything is possible and I would love to see it happen, but we would really need some help from the teams that are above us. The Blazers and Nuggets currently occupy the last 2 playoff spots. Denver can fall out altogether if a Melo deal ever goes down. Portland is trying their best to stay afloat as they battle through injuries, but not having Roy and Oden has and will hurt their playoff hopes. The key to any success that we may have is largely based on health to our primary players and the productivity of Baron and DeAndre. It can make all the difference in the world If DeAndre continues to anchor the paint like he has. When does Kaman come back? How will he fit in? Will he remain a reserve even after getting back into game shape?
The odds are not in our favor, but we've seen teams finish the season strong after terrible starts before.

I doubt it.
That terrible start got us in a hole we'll most likely won't be able to climb out.
And we're also going to be on the road the whole month of February, which should be really tough, especially for a young team like ours.
Still, I see us being one of those dangerous teams that nobody wants to play and that hurts other teams playoff chances during the 2nd half of the season.
I think something between 30 - 35 wins is realistic for us and that's just not enough to make the playoffs.

Just have to keep hoping the Blazer lose most of their games then we won't even need to be .500 to get in the playoffs.

I would love for us to make the playoffs and that thought hadn't really crossed my mind recently. We are not mathematically eliminated yet so it is possible. But how possible is it? I would say not likely. You have all brought up good points, we would need things to go our way with other teams and we will have to show that we can win on the road. That 1-13 start really put us behind. I will be OK if we don't make the playoffs, but we need to continue to show that we are building something and that we will be ready to go for next season.

haha it'd be really nice to be in playoffs but we have though schedule , especially in February and going 30-15 would be very very hard.
I'd go to every playoff game. but honestly spurs is the toughest team to beat in playoffs

Well now its 29-15

The win against the Heat was so awesome. According to Hollinger we have 3% chance of making- just couple weeks ago it was under 1%
http://espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/playoffoddsReally Excited for the Blazers/Clipper game on TNT next Thursday. We can gain a full game- and on national television.
