This is encouraging news, sorta

Al Horford didn't play in Atlanta's game against Washington on Saturday night because of a lower back injury.

He sustained the injury on Friday night when Blake Griffin fouled him hard on a drive to the basket. Horford was OK with the foul, which was called a flagrant foul 1.

"It wasn't a dirty play or anything," Horford said. "He was making a play on the ball, so you can't fault him for that."

He is averaging 16.2 points and 9.9 rebounds this season.

I'm sure the fact that they won the game on that foul didn't hurt.

Well, Horford has been on the other end of this situation, when he nearly took TJ Ford's head off, which can arguably be the reason why Ford went from being a near all star point guard to a bench player. At least Griffin tried to make a play on the ball. Horford tried to spike Ford's head as if it was a volleyball.
