Hearing from my end about very advanced talks between Cavs-Clips, Baron Davis-Mo Williams,
backing up DA's report. Deal not done.
http://twitter.com/reallisaI'm not sure what I think about this. I was starting to finally enjoy having Baron.

The BD contract will weigh us down for years - You DO this deal if you're the Clippers front office.

If Baron is healthy he gives us a great chance of winning. I know he doesn't have the best contract, but getting Mo Williams would just be for cap space. Seems like we would just be giving up and wouldn't have anyone to play PG at the level Baron plays. If we want to make the playoffs we keep Baron, if we want cap space we trade him.

I think if we do this swap, Clips must have something else up their sleeves.

As I said before, I hope they have something/someone else up their sleeves.

This doesn't make sense to me. Both of their contracts end in 2013. Mo's deal has 2 player options for $8.5M for the next two season. He'll definitely pick it up.
Mo is a better shooter but he's not the playmaker Baron is. I really don't know why we traded Baron when PG wasn't our need. We need a legit SF!

Make no sense for the Cavs either....
Both have two years left so to speak with Mo at 17mil and Baron at 28mil
There would have to be incentive for the Cavs to take on addition 11mil in salary...So something is up..

Can either players be flipped to other teams (I just don't understand this either). Tired of BD, but definately not a fan of Mo either. Cofused???

Baron and the Clippers 2011 1st round pick for Mo and Jamario Moon is the deal...

I know Mo is the better shooter, but Baron is the much better play maker and I was comfortable with him running the offense. Baron started to come around and then he gets traded, even though we get a more manageable contract we give up on this season. And I don't know what our chances are of reaching the playoffs next season.

I like this move alot. Mo williams is a far far better shooter than baron. While baron is a better playmaker, remember before EJ went down and baron was out, EJ was playing very well with the ball in his hands. He can go back to being a little more ball-dominant again, and now will have a competent 3 point shooter to kick the ball out to.
Mo's contract is still better overall than baron's, and lets face it, this is called selling high. Barons been playing great recently but lets not be fooled, this is still baron davis. He could get injured/grumpy/lazy at any moment and be worthless. This was easily, EASILY the best time to trade him while he was playing great.
Now we just need to ship kaman out for something nice (maybe gerald wallace? battier? maybe to denver if they don't get a extension with nene for one of their billion wings?)

Some of you are much more forgiving than i am, or have a worse memory than me. It wasn't more than 2 months ago most people on these forums would have traded baron for a lawn chair or an expresso machine.

Wallace and Nazr for Kaman and C Smith is the deal we like on the Bobcats board.

This is an absurd deal for the Clippers. UNPROTECTED 1st round pick + Baron Davis who has developed chemistry with your young guys, namely BG, for Mo frickin Williams and Jamario Moon???
Oh lord. Poor Blake.

Dilman:
"Ran the part of the trade scenario past Baron Davis outside of the lockeroom and he looked stunned. Didn't even say the words Byron Scott."
"One other detail: Blake Griffin was called back in the room behind the locker room. Assuming he was told about the deal then."
