Obviously, he never really materialized what we had hoped he would be when we first brought him in, but I give him props for not going back on his word after Brand did. I believe that Baron did have big hopes, but underestimated the work and effort that it would take to achieve them. Even though he was frustrating to deal with more often than not, I remained a fan of his and hoped for the best. I did want to see him succeed here and to get his act together.

Last season didn't turn out as expected with Blake getting hurt, but Baron stepped his game up, got into shape under the guidance of Coach Lucas and ended up being our best player last season imo. This season he came into camp out of shape and was put on the spot by the coach and called to carpet, but owned up to his mistakes and took responsibility. His demeanor and attitude this season were much more positive than his first 2 seasons with us and it was great to actually see him motivated. It was a rocky relationship between us, but he will be missed and it does suck to see him end up in the situation that he is in.

I wish him the best be it in Cleveland or anywhere else that he may end up.

Baron Davis went to virtually everyone on Clipper plane on flight home from N.Orl. to say thanks and goodbye. Classy.

Not much to say. He didnt bring much to the table.

Baron Davis was the reason of me becoming a Clippers fan. Years ago, I collected basketball cards and I randomly chose Baron Davis as the player whose cards I started to collect (didn't know much about the NBA then). So I started to follow Baron and watched my first NBA games when he was with the Warriors. Then he moved to LA and I became a Clippers fan.

I know that he disappointed most of the Clippers fans, including me. He just is that kind of a player that has a lot of talent and not the greatest work ethic/mindset. Nevertheless, I was shocked when I saw he was traded. I thought he finally started to feel good and excited playing with Blake and those other young guys. Yes, he's instability, he's laziness, he's injury proneness and he's contract sucked, but I would have loved to see him play here next season as well. Going to Cleveland isn't probably going to be good for his motivation and spirit at this point, but I hope he will bounce back.

Btw, if all this made you think that I'm going to be a Cavs fan now, then you're wrong. I'm definitely not leaving the Clippers because of Baron being traded. I'll probably watch some Cavs games to see how he does, but the Clippers are still my favourite team and I continue to be a dedicated supporter of this ballclub.

I was a lurker on these forums before Baron came to the Clippers. All the hope and promise of BD coming and turning around the franchise got me too excited to stay silent and not participate in the RealGM forums. So thanks for making me join the forums, Baron!

With all the ups and downs (mostly downs), the team had a bunch of things that were outside of BD's control (coaching changes, trades, injuries) so I can't blame him for everything. But, he did report to the team out of shape, had plenty lot of excuses, and didn't play with any motivation until recently. The expectations were too high, and he couldn't deliver anything close to what we all expected.

Thanks for bringing Jessica Alba to our court side, and for a few exciting moments during your time with the Clippers. Your bearded smile will be missed, but the 3pt chucks will not.

I have to go back to when we actually signed Baron. I was really upset and disappointed that Elton Brand decided to leave us. After that I thought Baron was going to leave too, I didn't think we would be much good and thought Baron would go else where. Instead Baron still decided to sign with us and I was excited to have him. However, like many of you, I thought we would be getting the Baron that played in Golden State. I remained hopeful that Baron would return to that form and for the first 2 seasons he didn't. This year and especially before the All-Star break I thought we had the Baron that we were all waiting for. He and the team was playing well, and I saw a real connection with Baron and Blake.

Now Baron is a Cavalier. I'm still not a big fan of the move, but it is what it is. I wish Baron all the best and I'll still root for him to do well in Cleveland. Although Baron didn't do much I appreciate what he was able to do during his time as a Clipper. I hope that his departure benefits both the Clippers and the Cavaliers.

Baron & Jessica Alba are very similar. A nice friendly smile, that you mistake for something else. Baron never lived up to what was "expected" from him nor do I think Mo Will will.
At the end of the day, I think this is a horrible day, we are envisioning 2012 and not this season or next. Not only did we get 2 players who are suspect, we still don't have a legit #3.
I wish Baron better luck than marbury, but I think this could be horrible for both sides. Poor Baron, finishing his career w/ a diminishing team, I guess KARMA (& Byron Scott) finally caught up w/ him

Screw Baron Davis, he's a fat ass, he never gave a damn while he was here and he's a crook. I'm really happy he's gone. I'm especially glad he went to a terrible team and in crappy city.

If he doesn't like it, he should've worked harder to earn a little bit of that $14mil/year.

After hearing about the trade my initial thought was man I'm glad my bud forgot to get me a baron jersey when he was there 2 weeks ago. Like most I was excited to have him on board, only to be frustrated at him for 2 years. This season I've really liked him, as we were much better with him running the show than Bledsoe.

I think I might grab a baron jersey anyway now... as long there is a decent post trade sale.

He messed up by not showing to camp in shape and not taking his job more serious. That's what happen to some people when they play where they are from. He was in his comfort zone in L.A and he was to busy trying to be a movie director than a basketball player.

I hope he does well in Cleveland. I use to play ball with him in high school when he was at Crossroads.

He will be missed for sure. I agree that we're going to see a glimpse of how bad the offense will be ran without him. I'm hoping Mo can step it up and provide us with a good jumpshot and can facilitate the offense decently. We've witnessed how good players can somehow lose their shot when they join the team.

It was mainly Baron's contract that I didn't like. Other warned of his lack of motivation to stay in shape and his poor jumpshot.

So thanks for sucking it up, Baron, to get rid of Dunleavy.

At first, I didn't like the trade. Baron was finally playing well, and it seemed like the guard rotation was set. He's a great playmaker, for the most part had good chemistry with the guys, and seemed like he accepted his role as a facilitator, and not a scorer.

But like many of you have mentioned, we can't forget the other seasons where he just basically didn't give a damn. He coasted for the most part, and when he saw things were getting better, then he started to play like he was expected. Not just the odd game here and there, but consistently. Not a good way to earn support, especially with his contract.

Thanks for the moments Baron, and hopefully he can somehow get out of Cleveland and get onto a better team.

Well.... I'm reading a rumor now that says Baron is expected to fail his physical in Cleveland coming soon because of the knee..... God i hope the trade doesn't somehow get overturned because of this.

I will say thanks to baron for playing well these last 2 months and improving his trade value so that we could eventually move him out. If he played that well even 50% of the time he was here i would feel bad about him leaving (I have a baron davis jersey from 2 years ago sitting in my closet never to see the light of day) but he was a huge bust.

No longer will i be forced to face palm whenever i see him chuck an ill advised random 3 for no logical reason. Amen.

ya he already failed teh outgoing that was yesterday, there's an incoming one on the cav's end he's expecting to fail

the cavs won't care though, cause they did it for the pick. the trade will more than likely go through. but mo missed 2 games cause of baron's doucheness :/
