GRIFFIN NAMED WESTERN CONFERENCE ROOKIE OF THE MONTH

Los Angeles Clippers’ rookie forward Blake Griffin today was named the NBA’s Western Conference T-Mobile Rookie of the Month for games played through February. It is the fourth straight month Griffin has been honored as Rookie of the Month. The Washington Wizards’ John Wall won the award for the Eastern Conference.

Griffin led all rookies in scoring (23.1 ppg) and rebounding (11.6 rpg), and tied for second in assists (3.6 apg). He scored at least 20 points 11 times and finished with 12 double-doubles in 14 games. He also led all rookies in minutes (39.2 mpg). Griffin is on pace to become the first rookie to average better than 20 points and 10 rebounds since Elton Brand in 1999-2000.

Here is a recap of the month for Griffin:

Blake Griffin, LA Clippers

Feb. 2 vs. Chicago: Had 32 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists in a 106-88 loss to Chicago.

Feb. 11 @ Cleveland: Tallied 32 points, 13 rebounds and two steals in a 126-119 loss to Cleveland.

Feb. 16 @ Minnesota: Had 29 points, eight rebounds and five assists in a 98-90 win over the Timberwolves.

Feb. 22 @ Oklahoma City: Tallied 28 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists in a 111-88 loss to Oklahoma City.

Finally no one on the injury report. I'm glad that EJ will be playing in the game. I hope we can stop this losing skid.

Can't wait to see EJ play. Clips will have a fully healthy roster for the first time all season.

I dare other teams to double Blake with EJ and Mo waiting to knock down three's.

K-Mart picks up his 2nd with 7:41 to go in the 1st. Their best scorer and best defender against Blake are both limited by fouls :)

Things haven't gotten better for us since Hayes and Martin went out. This will probably be a tough one

Aminu's game is so bipolar. On plays like that he looks sensational, other plays he looks completely lost.

Yeah we really have just missed like 4-5 really easy shots right by the basket. Those should go down throughout the rest of the game.

23-21 Clippers at the end of 1. It's hard to complain about any start that has us on top, but we didn't capitalize to the early foul trouble that the Rockets got into. EJ and Blake have played very well offensively, but Williams has been stone cold. Nobody else has really stepped up so far. We've done a great job at getting to the line and making 75% of our attempts.

Can't believe we only shot 39% in that first quarter, we lead 23-21
