What's with all the criticism of Blake's Dunk performance?

A lot of people weren't impressed by Blake's dunk contest performance, and, admittedly, I think that he probably could have done better. At the same time, there seems to be a lot of backlash about it, with people trying to find other dunks that were better, saying that someone else should have won, etc.
Below is a link to a recent And1 Street Baller's dunk over a car. While I agree that it certainly is impressive, people are talking about an "And 1" athlete here. It's obvious that this guy has much more time to spend on practicing dunks, rather than develop an overall NBA game. I'm pretty sure this guy wouldn't last a week in the league.

Honestly there was nothing special about any dunk he made. The ones he missed were more exciting to watch, and everyone knows he won cause was in LA and a fan favourite. That's all there really is to it. No reason to defend him, and absolutely no reason to even justify him not being the true winner. It's a damn dunk contest. What do you gain from it?
Nothing, that's what.

We all know that Blake could have done several other dunks but his creativity and showmanship won him that contest. I fully expect him to quiet all the skeptics
(incl. some clipper fans
) in Orlando 2012.

he gets criticized because he won despite being the 3rd best dunker in the contest.
he gets criticized because he didn't deserve the award. he was announced the winner with a detailed summary of the choir and car before he even got into the final round. he got a 46 on a weaker dunk that derozan got 44 on. he repeatedly missed on his dunks and the ones that he did make was nothing spectacular. 'thats a nice car, but the dunk was nothing special'.

Considering Blake and McGee made the final round, Blake deserved to win in my opinion. His dunks were better than McGee's in the final round. The criticism isn't really directed at Blake, it's directed at the contest in general and what it has become. It's turned into a circus. Too many props are being used, the fan voting is ridiculous as always, and even the judges did a crap job as chyau.00 mentioned. DeRozan got a lower score for doing a harder dunk in less attempts than Blake's. The one problem I have with Blake is the car dunk. It was lame to use a choir and car. They hype of that dunk was entirely manufactured by props and the dunk itself wasn't even good. The build up to it was so over the top that at that point McGee could have dunked from the 3 point line and he still wouldn't have won.

- He shouldn't of gotten out of the first round. Derozan's dunks were better.
- Having the chorus and crappy Kia car there and ready made it suspicious that he couldn't lose in the first round at least. Would be too much of a hassle to have them on-site and not used.
- The biggest conspiracy is that the NBA declared him the winner of the dunk contest an hour the contest itself. They sent out press release to the media about the all-star weekend schedule and said Griffin had won the contest.. an hour before the dunk contest.

Can someone explain how he got a higher score than DeRozan on a simple 360 when DeMar went off the side of the backboard through the legs?

IMO Blake didn't beat DeMar nor Ibaka. All of Demars dunks were better than Blakes. Ibaka is the first legit person to complete the FT dunk correctly. Although his second dunk was weak.
