Del Negro on Mo Williams
"A guy that gives everybody confidence," Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro says. "He's the first guy on the first bus (from the team hotel), the first guy out there shooting for an hour (before tip-off), getting his game right.

"That stuff is invaluable, because we have a lot of young players, to do it the right way and have good practice habits and good preparation."

Olshey on Chris Kaman and current outlook
"We need one more major player to join this team at some point to put with Eric and Blake," Clippers general manager Neil Olshey says.

"I think it takes three, and guys who know their roles at the other spots. We thought Chris was that guy but we're not sure how he's going to fit in with this team right now because he hasn't played enough with Blake and Eric."

Del Negro team's future
"We're in a different situation because our top players are 22, which is a good position to be in," Del Negro says of Griffin and Gordon. "That's why Mo's leadership glaringly sticks out. We have to make some decisions in the offseason, keep our core together and move up."

I might be reading into this a bit too much, but it kind of sounds like the Clippers maybe shopping Kaman next season.

I'm all for it if it means an upgrade @ SF plus keep our core group together *sig check* :)

Also, we should bring back Foye & Rhino.

That's what I took from the quote. Kaman is a good center. I think he has some pretty good value right now. If we do trade him I hope it's for a SF that fits. We need another shooter.

Foye has been a big time bargain. We should bring him back.

I read this part in red and assumed VDN was talking about Griffin. It was only that I checked the date of the post, as I've been away for a few weeks, that I saw who he meant. Great to hear that we have a a vet spreading that leadership and not just our 22 year old beast.

I think the 'DJ to full-time #1 starter' movement is finally ready after 2 years of discussion here. I'd like him to work out and get a little stronger this offseason (nothing too big though.) He should be capable of 10 and 10...

When we landed Mo Williams I had the feeling he would be a great fit. He's a good shooter, isn't ball-dominant, and can actually be useful off the ball (catch and shoot.)
