Olshey Interview
It starts around the 33:00 mark.
- Not "actively" shopping Kaman.
- Basically said talks of Kaman for Iggy is dead.
- Plan to take BPA in draft rather than addressing need. SF will be addressed through FA or Trade.
- Looking at draft as unofficial trade deadline.
- Approx. $12.5M in cap space prior to re-signing DJ (depending on new salary cap/CBA)
- Mentions the value of the 2012 Minny Pick as one of the most valuable trade pieces in the league next season.
- Believes team (as currently constructed) is a .500 club without any additions. Wants to add player(s) to add about 7-10 wins on top of being a .500 team.
- Aminu may be nice complement down the road, but looking to bring in SF that will help win now..
Overall, nothing earth-shattering. It sounds like we'll be prepared to keep both Kaman and DJ at center, then filling the hole at SF through free-agency. It doesn't sound like we'll be throwing the Minny pick in a deal for an undeserving player.
