Iggy to be Clipper thursday?

@shrig021 @jgmagic3 ... I'm thinking Iggy will be a Clipper on Thursday.

How good could/would the Clippers be if they acquired Iggy for Kaman?

5. DeAndre Jordan
4. Blake Griffin
3. Andre Iguodala
2. Eric Gordon
1. Eric Bleadsoe

Playoff bound for sure barring injuries, and also Mo Williams would get the start over Bledsoe. :P I wonder what else the team would have to give up in order to get him though.

Who's that source?

And does he/she have any creadibility?

I mean, I could also just tweet about Iggy becoming a Clipper etc.

The frontrunner to obtain Iguodala's services is believed to be the Los Angeles Clippers. Iguodala would be moved for Chris Kaman if this deal were to be completed, but other players and pieces may also be involved when all is said and done. The two sides have talked on and off since February, but both sides seem more willing than ever to make a trade work.

The following is from a poster on the Sixers board who is considered a reputable inside source:

Iguodala to LAC for Aminu and Kaman by Wednesday. We may include Speights and they may include Willie Warren in one variation. Also in play is a swap of pick #37 for pick #50 as part of the deal. Deal has many variations but it sounds like one of the above is most likely to get done by Wednesday.

I'm afraid it's going to happen. Philly fans ran him out, just like Barkley. This is why I can't stand fans here. You guys got an absolute steal and will most definitely be playoff bound. Will enjoy watching your franchise next season.

Will our Prince come as well?

I've been against including Aminu in a trade for Iguodala in a Kaman/AFA straight-up swap for Iggy alone, but if the Clips also get Speights, Nocioni, and/or the 16th pick in the draft, that would offset the cost on our side if the Clips were to also include the second-round pick(s). Willie Warren is negligible since he was a low second-round selection in last year's draft and has proven so far to be an effective player on the NBADL level.

I wouldn't mind giving up Aminu at all if we could also be assured of signing Tayshaun Prince to a reasonable deal once the lockout ends, but would Prince be more or less inclined to sign with the Clippers if Iguodala is now the starting SF on the roster? Plus, with the Minny pick in 2012, the Clips have a shot at some talented prospects such as Anthony Davis, Harrison Barnes, and Michael Gilchrist at the wings or Myck Kabongo at the point if Bledsoe doesn't make a lot of progress in developing his PG instincts.

WOW, I'm for this only if we are able to re-sign DJ, BG, and EJ - Sterling is going to have to be willing to shell out the bucks if we get an expensive player such as Iggy.

I hope it happens. I love Iggys game. However, I just realized that our starting 5 will have a salary of $65mil in 2 years :o Good luck convincing Sterling to pay luxary tax.

According to Ken Berger (CBS Sports), the Sixers are looking to draft Jordan Hamilton with the 16th pick. Other reports are saying that Sixers like Donatas Motiejunas. Obviously, them leaning towards Hamilton works more into our favor. I'm trying to not get my hopes up too high, but Iguodala has been the guy that has made the most sense for us for a long while. Even more so after the Mo/Baron trade.

Iguodala is an excellent sign. I hope it gets done! I would also like Speights to be included, he would be a solid back-up for PF.

Advocacy for Kaman in Iggy swap

Gordie Jones, Philadelphia Sports Daily (6/21/11)
“They clearly need a star, and Iguodala’s not it,” the source said. “He doesn’t command a double-team. He doesn’t get respect at the end of the game in terms of the officials.”
...

“If you give me a choice between Tony Battie, Spencer Hawes and Kaman, I’ll take Kaman in a heartbeat,” the source said. “Kaman’s a skilled offensive player, and a better-than-average shot-blocker. He can command a double-team and hit the face-up jumper. He can put it on the floor a little bit.”

The downside is that Kaman is injury-prone. He has played in 56 games or fewer three of the last four years, and appeared in just 32 last year because of an ankle problem.

But our mystery guest wonders if that’s because Kaman has needed that much time to recover from his physical woes, or if he was simply in no rush to return to a struggling team. Our source doesn’t know Kaman personally, but does know that Kaman and Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki are close, and that Nowitzki wanted him in Dallas “in the worst way” at one point.

“Part of it is that Dirk felt like Kaman would be a good fit,” the source said. “He got beat down in the seven years he played with the Clippers.”

As a philly fan I've more or less resigned that we'll move Iggy, though I'm going to LOL when we suck hard next year and all the fans are like WTF why's our D so bad? And when ball movement stops and people stop getting easy points off of Dre's good passes... oh-well.

Deal I'd like to see happen:

Iggy + Speights + Noc ----> Kaman + Aminu + Gomes + Min 1st

With Min looking to add vets, new coach, Rubio & #2 the value of that pick decreases most likely to a later lotto (just my opinion). Philly helps shave a year off of Gomes deal, which would be helpful for the clips in resigning some guys, Speights is a very offensively skilled PF/C tweener. Could play spot minutes next to Blake or DJ.

I see Philly being much more interested in the 1st than Aminu, simply because we have Thad, and are talking about drafting Hamilton, who looks like he'd be a better fit then Aminu.

Pretty much everyone is more interested in that Minny first then Aminu and that's why that pick won't go anywhere, unless Chris Paul, Deron Williams or Dwight Howard will come back to the Clippers.

Your proposed deal's also way in favour of your franchise, as we won't give up that pick for Iggy and his contract, while also taking on Nocioni's contract.

So it's either Kaman, Aminu(and some change like #37 + Warren) for Iggy, Speights(and maybe #50) or we'll just call it a day and keep Kaman instead.

^That's cool, i understand where your coming from with the pick...

But as far as 'taking on' Noc's deal, Clips are saving money by getting rid of a year on Gomes deal. Noc's actually a decent role player so he's not a bad guy to have around as a back up/expiring.

My bad on Nocioni's deal, it's been too long talking about him having a crappy long contract.

Anyways, if there's a deal between both of our teams then I expect it to be something build around Kaman, Aminu, Warren, #37 for Iggy, Speights, #50.
Anything else(Minny pick other players) would be too much to give up for Iggy, thanks to his contract and that new CBA, which probably will lower salaries and what teams are allowed to spend without being penalised(luxury tax) for it.
