I think the best thing ,especially w/ Kaman is too wait the Lockout. If there is only part of a Season, Kaman may be beneficial to the Clips & increase his bargaining position. I think the Clips need a #3, but not at the price that the Hawk contracts are at.

The only player I would want is Josh Smith, but we need a SF an he is more of a 4. I probably wouldn't trade Kaman to the Hawks since there isn't a SF I would want.

Smith and Horford are the only two that make sense.

How about Smith + 2012 second for Kamen + future first (top 5 protected)

Bad deal. There won't be a full NBA Season & then the Clips could use the$$$'s w/ Minny's 1st Rd. pick to fill any needs.
How much does Smith make a year? Too much?

The Hawks have nothing the Clippers would want, as Horford is playing the same position as Griffin and certainly wouldn't be available for Kaman and Smith just isn't a small forward, as he can't guard that position consistantly thanks to his lack of foot speed.

Therefore another team would've to be included to make things happen.

So maybe something centered around Kaman, Smith and Danny Granger or Kaman, Smith and Iguodala could be worked out, as either Indy or Philly would probably be more willing to trade their small forwards for Smith, while you guys get a center to pair with Horford.

OK, I appreciate the feedback, I'll look into a 3 team trade. Thank you

Not to pick a fight, but how good do you guys actually think Kaman is?
Seems to me that he's good enough to be valuable to a team in need of a center, but certainly not in the realms of a Gortat/Noah/etc.
IMO you guys should jump for joy if you get Josh Smith for him. Griffin can go PF/C and Smith can go PF/SF and you'd have a much better team than Kaman alone.
I'm a Wolves fan not a Hawks fan, just thought I'd add my 2 cents.

Griffin is not a Center and I feel that Smith is the kind of player we don't need to add. Since we need a SF that can shoot I'd rather not add Josh Smith.

Can you imagine a lineup of Smith/Griffin/Jordan in the frontcourt? Bledsoe can throw alley-oops all day!

I'm alright with you listing Noah, as he's a starter on a playoff team, above Kaman, but Gortat certainly isn't better then Kaman, when healthy.
Kaman can easily average a double double when given 30+ minutes and he's way above those two guys when it comes to scoring the basketball, as he's solid from mid range and able to finish with both hands down low.

Anyways...

If you're reading the comments of Clippers fans, there's certainly no one saying that Smith would be bad value wise or that Kaman's worth more then him.
All we're saying is that he's just not a fit for us, with Blake around, and that we would create the same problem the Hawks currently have, as they're playing their best power forward(Horford) out of position because of Smith.

That's why adding Smith and giving up the chance to add someone meaningfull at a more needed position(small forward) instead wouldn't be a wise decision for the Clippers.

Can you imagine them trying to play defense, with Smith being beaten all the time by his opponent because of his lack of foot speed?
And could' you imagine our ability to spread the floor to even be able to "throw alley-oops" or create space down low/for slashers like Gordon?

I'm sorry, but I'm not that optimistic about a lineup like that, cause we wouldn't have any shooting ability alongside Eric Gordon(as long as Bledsoe doesn't improve dramatically) and opposing defenses would just play zone(while keeping someone very close to Gordon) nearly all the time as we couldn't finish all those open looks.

That's why, IMO, such a lineup would certainly be nice on NBA Jam, but not in the real NBA world.

I'm not sure who else to include if we were trying to get Teague. However we do have Bledsoe, so we really wouldn't need to try to get Teague. And I'm sure that the Hawks are looking at Teague as their PG of the future.

Smith lacks foot speed defensively... c'mon really??
