Hey guys, I don't normally do this but I really want to help my friend out. He's an artist (hiphop/rap) and I want to help spread the word. I've known people that wanted to get into the music industry and fall flat, but I see it different with this friend. He has a lot of potential. If you guys like hip-hop/rap, please take a few minutes and listen!

Not a Hip Hop/ Rap Guy at all. I checked his page out, but still haven't gotten around to listening. I will tell my 17 year old to listen and see what he says.

I listened to the songs on soundcloud. I have to say it wasn't too bad, I'm really selective on my music. He is someone I could find myself listening to.

Not bad at all, actually. To my surprise.

Not bad. I do think that he has potential. How long has he been doing it?

Hey Jflipclip,

I work for Universal Music and am friends with a few of the heads of A&R. I listened to the songs on SoundCloud and although I was not fond of all of them, "The Plastic King" sounded interesting (although it still needs some work).

Do you know if there are more songs from this artist that are not posted online? Has he signed any deals with any major or minor labels? Is he a Los Angeles resident?

I am not sure what I could do for him as I am not in the A&R departments, but if anything, I would like to take this offline. I won't post my email here and I cannot figure out how to PM you, but if you post your address (or get a mod to PM me with your email address) I will send you an email that you can forward to your friend.

Again, I am not promising anything just suggesting that the one song may be marketable. As you know, only one in every 500 submissions get approved. I can, however, get the material to the right people. Its up to you if you wish to contact me though.

I am only doing this because I have a soft spot for fellow Clipper fans and I genuinely liked the song.

He finally started recording this year. I think the last two years, he spent time writing rhymes and taking lessons (voice/singing and guitar?).

There's a more club/trance song on his Facebook fanpage. I don't think he has signed any deals and yes, he is from the LA region (Hermosa Beach). I know he's working on some more songs, but the songs he has released are part of his EP and he had a plan to release it and donate the profits to an underprivileged school. I'll send you a PM with his e-mail since he can tell you more. If you don't get a PM, just post here again. Totally did not expect this type of response. Thank you!
