I have a feeling that this isn't going to be pretty. Sounds like if the players don't take the deal there might not be a season

I am not feeling the NBA Love. I have never been a huge "STERN" fan and I am scratching my head trying to figure out where all the "Official Sponsor" Money goes to. Stern finds a sponsor from Time Outs to the Official Toilet paper of the NBA; where does the money go?
I see the players & owners sides, but why is nobody questioning Stern & Silver, these two unathletic lawyers seem to be the real problem in these negotiations. I really think that it was Stern & Silver that leaked info to the press about a rift between Hunter & Fisher.
Maybe its time the Owners & Players meet w/ the mediator and w/out Stern or Silver. Maybe its time for a new Commish & NBA management, maybe that would make me want to renew my season tix next year.
I miss the NBA already and we are only 10 days w/out the Season.

With the way that things are looking/sounding, the players will probably sign a petition to decertify this week. This will then open up a 45-day window before an actual decertification vote would take place (if a deal has not been reached).

This saga will continue.

MK, I think you are right. The saga is going to continue & its going to get ugly.

I honestly don't know what the heck will happen next.

It currently looks like the players will reject that deal and try to get enough votes to decertify.

Though, there's also talk now, that they want to meet with the owners before Wednesday and keep on negotiating.
The thing is, though, that I doubt that Stern has any power anymore and that it's those hardline owners who're preventing him from offering anything more then he did on Saturday.

BTW: The union also looks everything but united(as I thought before), cause there's always just talk from the guys who're being paid tens of millions, while the rank and file haven't been heard at all.

And I think those guys would easily vote for the deal Stern is offering, cause they know they won't ever make back all the money they're losing and they just want to play ball again.
This is why I also believe that the players won't get those 50%(which they'll need to finally decertify on the 2nd vote) and therefore will look totally dumb, as they then will have to cave back to the owners and accept an even worse deal.

I'm aware of that.

Still, up until now, the only guys you've heard from on the playeres side were either Hunter/Fisher or the big guns like KG, Wade, Pierce etc.

Though, that seems to have changed a bit with Kevin Martin talking some about a vote and Steve Blake trying to rally the "silent majority" guys to push for a vote.

I'm really curious/nervous to see what happens. I really don't want the season to be canceled.
