Would Chauncey Come to the Clips?

Do we? Could we? Do we have $$$$ for Chauncey?
I like the guy 2 years, 8 million, he is already gonna draw his Knicks paycheck. He might have fun playing w/ the youngsters & showing off his SWAG in L.A.

Sam Cassell version 2.0 :) I wouldn't mind at all. Clippers went deep into the playoffs that year. Even further than the Lakers 8-)

If we bid on him, we'd only get him for the final year left on his contract. He's spouting off a lot right now, but I think that's mainly because he doesn't want to end up in miserable situation. We're not the greatest situation for him, but not the worst either. He hopes to join Miami after everyone passes on him, but I fully expect someone to take the risk and bid on him.

does Miami have any money left??? I really don't see Miami as a good place for him. The Clips could be intriguing if they are able to keep DJ & trade Kaman for something valuable.

They'll be able to offer the minimum. Billups is threatening every team that considers bidding on him that he will not cooperate. He's tired of being "the good guy." If he got his way and ended up in Miami, he'd give them a pg that they need (Chalmers and Cole being their other options) and he'd have a shot at a ring. Here, he's in a nice location and probably on a playoff team, but a much smaller role imo. He's getting the same money wherever he goes, so he'd understandably prefer a good team.

I'm only relaying what he has been telling the media. I think he's worth having if we could acquire him. I think he could learn to like it. He doesn't want to end up on a team like Sacramento, Minnesota a team like that. I don't think he'd mind much if he ended up on a contender (or Denver), but the problem is that the contenders don't have the money to bid on him.

I'm sure Billups wouldn't mind coming to us. I also wouldn't mind having him for a year. Like MK said I'm sure we're not his ideal situation, but not the worst. It does suck that Bledsoe will be out for a bit.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!
