“My wrist is 100% fine,” he said. “No worries about that. I’m ready, good to go.”

More importantly, regardless of the rumor mill churning, Gordon is viewed by the team as a cornerstone.

“Eric Gordon and Blake Griffin are the foundations of this organization,” Clippers Vice President of Basketball Operations Neil Olshey said. “That is what we are going to go with going forward.”

At Tuesday’s Media Day, Olshey said the goal of the front office was to build a team with “a present and a future.”

Gordon is a big part of that.

When asked how it feels to be valued by the organization, Gordon said, “It’s good. That’s what I strive for to be one of the better players out there in the league. I know I’m young, but still I’m looking forward to better things in the future.”

Gordon indicated his primary individual goal is to make the All-Star team.

“[I want to] just keep on being more vocal and lead by example,” Gordon said. “I really took it on to lead by example last year and hopefully that’s something I can get better at and just work on being even more vocal this season.”

With the arrival of Chauncey Billups, who was claimed by the Clippers on Dec. 12 after being waived by the New York Knicks, Gordon’s leadership role will continue to evolve as will the team’s postseason aspirations.

“It’s good to have a good young core group with a couple of veteran guys who have won championships as far as Caron [Butler] and Chauncey,” Gordon said. “It’s just going to be a good combination. Now, it’s going to be about getting our chemistry together to just get a lot of wins.”

He is already a pretty good outside shooter, but if he could I'm improve his outside shot and get a little more consistent, it would improve all aspects of his game and reduce the charging fouls/turnover situations.

We've been talking about wanting an outside shooting 3 for I think 2 years now, but Gordon is pretty close already to being that outside weapon for us.

Clips just landed Paul for Eric Gordon, Al Farouq and Chris Kaman, and Minni's 1st rounder. Do you think that was too much or just about right?

If you take a look at different threads around here, you'll see that most of us were totally against giving up Gordon.

I figured that, Gordon's a nice player but Chris would be a nice addition for the Clips. I just felt like both Gordon and the pick were a bit much and wanted to get you guys take on it. but should still be a nice pick up for you guys

in all honesty... we gave up way too much... we could have had a run for him and/or dwill next off season. but i believe in one of the other threads stated that the FO was scared that we may not be able to sign him to an extension which gives me enough reason to believe that it was enough for the FO to pull the trigger...

Clippernation is def in a bittersweet state.
