I come in piece clips fans...would you guys consider Dwight, Anderson, j rich for Blake, Jordan, mo? Take all the I <3 Blake griffin out of it..Dwight + cp3 would destroy the nba plus u got a PF that averages 17 ppg that can shoot...also a legit 2 guard...Dwights defense alone would make clips top 3 defense

We have a trade idea thread.
As far as this trade, it is horrible. Blake is still on his rookie contract, putting up huge numbers and playing his heart out. I want nothing to do with Dwight and his whinyness, let alone giving up Blake AND Jordan? Easy pass
We're coming together as a team, our guys genuinely like each other, and I want our core to stay together.

lol @ ppl saying it's a bad trade. Honestly, it's a great trade for the Clippers, but it's a lateral move and doesn't make sense for the franchise since we're already building around Griffin and have shown a big interest in keeping Griffin. We're also winning.

Well actually, it would be a bad trade for us.
Not talent wise(Howard>>Blake, as Dwight plays great defense as well), but management and fan base wise.
Howard will opt out of his contract at the end of the season and there's no guarantee he'd stay here.
We also invested a lot in Blake and he's probably the main reason we could convince a guy like CP3(and probably Butler as well) to come here and not view us as the laughing stock of the NBA anymore.
Blake's also still on his rookie deal and we would also give up DJ, who's a very nice compliment and an emerging guy at the center spot.
I think the only way Dwight comes to the Clippers is during the offseason in a sign-and-trade deal that sends DJ, Bledsoe, Mo and some picks for Howard and maybe a bad contract like Turkoglu's(would probably have to be two seperate deals) to L.A.
If that's not possible, then we should just look to add to the current core of Blake, CP3, DJ and Butler and try to go from there.

Don't get your hopes up jjtreyball for Blake to be on the Magic anytime soon.
DJ is locked up for 3 more seasons. Even though he is not the defensive talent that Howard is, he has been a huge force for us and the team plays better when he is on the floor. Our hope is that he continues to grow on the defensive end and lives up to his contract. With him signing an offer sheet and being matched, he has the right to veto trades this season.
Blake has another season left on his contract before he would become a restricted free-agent. That guarantees us that he's a Clipper at least until the end of the 2015-16 season. For this season and next season, he is on the rookie scale. He has become the face of the franchise. He is the player that we have been waiting to draft and turned the organization around internally and externally. He's the reason that Paul wanted to be here and the reason that the organization took a risk and finally decided to go all in. He's worth more to this franchise than he may be elsewhere, especially considering that he's still on his rookie deal.
Mo is a valuable player off of the bench that is playing super efficient basketball. He only has a year and a half left on his deal, so he's not a bad contract for us. We could keep him this year and move him as an expiring next year, or try to retain if Chauncey walks. Richardson is putting up the worst numbers of his career and is under contract until 2015.
Anderson is going to be a free agent in the summer and will be looking for a big pay day if he can keep up his performance. Possibly Gallinari type money. So we would have to get Dwight to re-sign and then deal with Anderson in free-agency. The 3 incoming contracts could very well come out to $35-36M and then you add Paul's ~$18M and Butler's $8M and we are at $60-61M without taking into account the bench.
It's not worth it for us. If really wanted Howard, we would probably try to sign him outright in summer by making a few moves to clear up cap space (amnesty Mo, trade DJ to a team that could absorb his contract). I know you don't want to hear that, but I would find that more likely than us trading away Blake and DJ.

NO. The Clippers are starting to mesh extremely well, they are fun to watch and looks like they put together a recipe for success. Blake is only in his 2nd season on a rookie contract, the face of the franchise, has a great personality, is maketable, beasting like crazy and l.A. loves him. As for DJ he fills the C position nicely and his game will develop over time especially with 2 veteran leaders (Billups/Paul) to help guide him. This team is a contender. As for Dwight, the guy is really starting to annoy me and his undecisveness is like a teenage girl who can't figure out what boy she likes the most Ok maybe it is the media fueling all this, but why mess with a good thing?

I know it's early, but DJ's play so far this year pretty much makes his contract a good move by the Clippers IMO. He's only going to get stronger (which will significantly help his 1-on-1 defense) and better at court awareness with just moderate effort and work in the offseason. The offense won't get much better, but that's not what I want him to focus on anyway- he picks up enough scoring opportunities as is with his athleticism and size.
By the last 2 years of his contract he really should be outplaying his salary.

I really don"t understand why people think Blake Griffin is actually available. Why would you mess up the team chemistry when they're doing well? Also, why would you sell out the guy who basically turned around your franchise.
From what I've heard, the Clippers slam the phone when someone even mentions Blake Griffin.

Honestly, I would make a Dwight Howard, Ryan Anderson, etc. for DeAndre Jordan, Blake Griffin & Mo Williams... I really, really would but the x-factor is the fact that DeAndre Jordan can veto any trade with-in the first year of his contract. I love Blake Griffin but he is still so, so raw and his jumper is complete ****. Dwight just dominates the paint and with a PG like CP3, he would just dominate and they would be the worst nightmare match-up for anyone. Dwight with Deron Williams would be ridiculous too. The attention those two players command gives you an advantage every time no matter the situation because you're gonna have to double-team one another. That's what is developing between CP3 and Blake but still, Blake can't hit an open 18-footer which the defense gives him every time but it should progress as he gets older, he needs to just practice. His athletic ability is (Please Use More Appropriate Word) though.

Blake will get better with the jumper, plus we surrounded him with shooters like Butler and Chauncey.
Its way too much of a risk to try to pull off a trade, then have DJ veto it, and then they all pull a Lamar and we trade Blake Griffin for a trade exception.
