Game #29: Clippers(19-9) vs Spurs(21-9)

Posted: Fri Feb 17, 2012 3:59 pm
by Det the Threat
This time around the Clippers will host the San Antonio Spurs for a matchup of two top teams of the western conference.

The Clippers were able to win their back-to-back games against the Wizards at home and the Blazers on the road and will now look to make it three in a row against the Greg Popovich led Spurs.
The Spurs, still with their big three in Duncan, Parker and Ginobili, again found ways to overcome injuries(Ginobili) and the age of their stars to round into one of the best teams in the west. They're also currently on a nine game winning streak and shouldn't ever be out of the conversation of the title contenders.

The Clippers will have their hands full and will need big contributions from Randy Foye, as he's their only shooting guard with decent size for that position, who has struggled since taking over the starting spot at shooting guard since Chauncey Billups went down.

Five Questions:

Will our bench be able to keep up with theirs?
Who will win the key matchup?
How will Foye do against their shooting guards?
Will Blake be able to shoot more then 60% from the line?
Who will grab more rebounds? Kenyon or Reggie?

Discuss and Go Clips Go!!!

Ginobili killed us last time, and that was with Billups. Both got injured but Ginobili is in his 3rd game(?) back while Billups is out for the season. I think DeJuan Blair had a good game against us last time too, so it'll be interesting what defensive adjustments we make.

I don't know how we can win these types of games with Randy Foye as our starting 2 guard. Lets hope for the best.

Such an important game Tony Parker is going to get our bigs in foul trouble and Manu is a beast we need to keep bodies on him.

The Clippers are in for a tough match up this Saturday. As long as Chris Paul is able to handle Parker and our big guys are able to stay out of foul trouble we should be able to make the necessary changes and win the game. Check out this video for the game on Saturday! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovfg4gZoQc4 GO Clippers!

well gotta play these guys to measure where we are as a team. beating the blazers was sweet, but this is the real test. the spurs are not only a great team but they match up very well against us. we have to get over this hump to be considered a true contender ourselves.

Oh boy... its the Spurs.

Hate playing this team. I have so much respect for coach Pop. I believe a coach like Pop could make a team like the Wizards have a winning record.

Its gonna be tough. Another test for the Clippers.

One thing you have to consider is his defense he has been playing.
