Minnesota - Derrick Williams, Malcolm Lee, Wes Johnson, 18th pick, 58th pick?

San Antonio - Cory Joseph, Erazem Lorbek?, Nando de Colo?, Kawhi Leonard? 59th pick?

LA Lakers - Christian Eyenga, Darius Morris, Andrew Goudelock, Devin Ebanks? 60th pick?

Chicago - Jimmy Butler, 29th pick?

Boston - JuJuan Johnson, E'twaun Moore, 21st pick, 22nd pick, 51st pick?

It would have been nice to have games against some of this year's lottery picks. All of the games are going to be televised, but there are a few days when there will be games going on simultaneously at Cox and Thomas & Mack, so those games may be delayed.

I might go to a few of the games, if so I'll let you guys know what the rookie (rookies?) look like. Besides Thompkins and Leslie, any idea who is going to play for us?

It's great that some of Clipper Nation will be out there representing us.

The games will be televised. In the past, a handful of games were shown and you had to order a Summer League On-Demand package or something like that to watch the games.

It's hard to guess outside of those 3 players. Maybe Willie Warren gets another look. I would have said Courtney Fortson, but he finished the season with the Rockets and may very well end up on their squad.

I'm trying to go out to Vegas during that time for the Summer League. If I go I'll let you guys know what I see.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Bledsoe says that he'll be on the Summer League team. So that will give us at least 4 players to pay attention to.

Battle getting ready for his next challenge

Having recently completed his first year of professional basketball overseas, Talor Battle is still searching to better his life through basketball.

As Battle looked out at the boys and girls attending the All Basketball, Inc. camp Thursday afternoon at Troy High, he recalled exactly how he felt a decade earlier at a camp just like this one.

"I wanted to show what I could do," said Battle, now 23.

Battle, who scored more than 2,000 points as both a high school player at Catholic Central and Bishop Maginn and in college at Penn State, will find his next basketball challenge competing for the Los Angeles Clippers in July at the Las Vegas Summer League.

"I'm excited just to have the opportunity. Not many guys get such an opportunity," Battle said. "I'm going to play as hard as I can and showcase myself. I believe I can play in that league. I have an opportunity, so let's see how it goes."

James Allen, Times Union

Battle played over 37 minutes per game last season, and the Nittany Lions relied heavily on his abilities on the offensive end. His biggest strength is clearly his shooting ability, which he utilizes to open up the rest of his game. Playing the point guard position with a scorer's mentality, Battle is able to create opportunities off the dribble for himself and others, as defenders are forced to honor the deep range and quick release on his jump shot. He is effective shooting off the catch and either direction off the dribble, and he's learned how to find ways to create space to get his shot off, despite his lack of height and the fact that he is the primary focus of opposing team's defense at Penn State. This would likely be much more difficult for him at the NBA level though, against taller, longer, more athletic defenders.

As we've mentioned before, Battle isn't a prototypical pass-first point guard, but he does display the ability and willingness to distribute the ball to the open man. And although he tends to force some turnovers when he gets into the lane on dribble penetration, he excels at finding his teammates on drive-and-kick situations, and he generally displays good decision making skills, as evidenced by a solid 1.79 to 1 assist to turnover ratio.

From a physical standpoint, Battle lacks the attributes that scouts like to see from an NBA point guard prospect. Standing at 5'11 with a decent frame, he doesn't possess the elite speed or explosiveness of most players his size that have been able to succeed at the NBA level. While he does display a fairly quick first step, which enables him to get into the lane off the dribble, his lack of size and great elevation often leads to poor decisions in traffic. He does display craftiness and sense of how to draw contract when attacking the basket, but he must learn to operate more efficiently in the lane.

Talor Battle playing on the Clippers Summer League team is a dream come true. Being a huge Penn State basketballl fan I watched him throughout his college career. He's a small scoring guard and has a lot of heart. He never missed a game at Penn State and played heavy minutes. He's a good shooter and a better play maker than he's given credit for. He also has something that can't be taught, he's clutch, he hit a lot of huge shots for Penn State to win games.

Where Battle has his limitations is on defense. He isn't tall or long so that will be a challenge for him. Talor Battle is my favorite Penn State hoops player ever. I can add more pics and videos later. I can't be more happy that he'll be playing for us. If anyone has any questions about Talor I'd be more than happy to answer them.

I knew you'd be excited about this. :D Thanks for the scouting report. I was familiar with the name, but hadn't really watched him play before. I'm looking forward to seeing him and the rest of the team. Only a couple weeks away :)

UAB's Moore to Join Clippers Summer League

BIRMINGHAM, AL-Former UAB standout Cameron Moore will play for the Los Angeles Clippers at the 2012 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. The event will feature 24 teams and a total of 60 games from July 13-22 at the Thomas & Mack Center and the Cox Pavilion on the campus of UNLV.

Moore had an impressive senior year at UAB, finishing the campaign with an average of 16.1 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.4 blocked shots per game. As a result, he was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year and also earned NABC All-District and All-Conference USA First Team accolades.

During the 2011-12 campaign, the San Antonio, Texas native became the Blazers’ all-time single-season rebounding leader (325 total rebounds and a 10.5 rebounds per game average). He finished the campaign leading C-USA in rebounds and blocked shots per game, while finishing fourth in the league in scoring average. Moore also recorded 14 double-doubles during the year, second-most in the league.

Here is a list of summer league rosters

The Clippers have been slow to announce anyone. Hollis Thompson (SF, Georgetown) has still not been associated with any other team. I hope that there is a good chance that he will be on ours.

Hilton Armstrong is the latest player to confirm that he will be on the Clippers summer league team. That brings the total to 6 players.

Al Thornton on Brooklyn Roster; can't believe he's already out of the league.

Welcome awaywehappened :)

I really wouldn't want to see DJ in the summer league. The younger guys need an opportunity to prove themselves as they're fighting for a roster spot. DJ needs to put in work with a big man coach. Blake is supposed to see Olajuwon later this summer. DJ needs to be joining him if not going to see him sooner. Shaq is holding a big man camp. Kareem is also doing some sessions for certain bigs. DJ needs to be putting in one-on-one time with some of these legends to refine his game.

Thanks jflip :D

I'm a little disappointed Hollis Thompson isn't on the team, but glad that the roster is finally out. We saw a little of Hubbard in preseason. Moore is pretty interesting to me. I hope he plays well enough to consider adding to our roster on a rookie deal. I can just picture Terrico White and Travis Leslie having one-on-one dunk contests. Morrison has been playing with Brooklyn in the Orlando Summer League, so he's already in game mode. Hopefully he has gotten some of his confidence back.

With us having so many centers on the SL team and limited cap room, I expect us to give strong consideration in signing one of them.
