Morrison?

Adam Morrison had a pretty good Summer playing for the Vegas Clips, do you think he might get one of the 2-3 Roster spots? Thoughts, good bad, is he worth taking a flyer on or will he be a Stopper at the end of the Bench? If he won't get minutes, I would rather try & develop Thompkins in L.A. or BField, where ever he can get the most minutes.

I keep hearing that Greg Anthony said that he has heard from an inside source that we're going to sign him.

Thompkins is guaranteed for this season, so he's not at risk of not making the roster. Leslie is partially guaranteed at $250K (about a 3rd of this year's salary), so he is at risk of being cut if the Clippers decide to look elsewhere.

I'd like to see us give him a make-good deal.. If he plays well with the team in training camp and during preseason, then it would be nice to have a shooter off the bench. We're talking about the 12th-15th spots, so it's not really a risk.

From what I have seen, he's only been on 3 summer league teams and 2 of them were this summer.

I'm going to give you per 36 numbers.
2009 Lakers: 23 pts (42%, 89.5%, 42.1%), 5.5 rbs, 2.2 assts, 0.8 stls, 0.6 blks, 2.8 to's in 32.5mpg
2012 Nets: 9.8 pts (36%, 100%, .000%), 7.5 rbs, 0.8 assts, 0.4 stls, 0.4 blks, 2.3 tos in 19.2 mpg
2012 Clippers: 24.2 pts (55.1%, 78.6%, 61.9%) 6.0 rbs, 1.2 assts, 0 stls, 0.2 blks, 1.4 tos in 29.8 mpg

I'd welcome Ammo with open arms. He's a helluva lot better at shooting 3's than Simmons and younger.

Leslie should also be waived to make this happen.

The only significant thought that comes to my mind about signing Morrison, is remembering that moment of him crying after Gonzaga inexplicably blew a late lead against UCLA in the NCAA tournament.

If they sign him, then I will just go ahead and assume he's improved and they saw something they liked. Because he hasn't shown much at all in the NBA so far.

There's 2 summer leagues. One in Orlando that has about 8 teams and the main one in Vegas that has about 24 teams. Quite a few players that went undrafted played in both leagues.

Simmons shot 33% 3PT, Morrison is a career 33.1% 3PT shooter with a high of 33.7% 3PT, hopefully he's improved unless he isn't better.

Don't see much point in signing Ammo, all Ammo would be is a benchwarmer who doubles as a mascot/fan favorite.

I'd welcome him too. He's a low risk, high reward guy. Sign him to the minimum for a year. He won't play much, but when he does play he can score points and will play hard. Not a good defensive player, but he can shoot/score. He will not complain of minutes and will just be happy to be on a roster and earning an NBA paycheck. Let him redeem himself.

Came to your forum to see your thoughts on Morrison. I think playing with Paul and Griffin this guy can drop between 15 and 20 a game, maybe more. Call me crazy.. and I know people will laugh, but he was unreal is summer league. He was dropping fade away 3s while being double teamed. No reason that shouldn't translate. With Griffin demanding double teams down low and Paul setting him up, he should be have plenty of scoring opportunities.

I know this will be perceived as the craziest post I've ever made on realgm, maybe that anyone has ever made, but I have to trust my eyes. This guy can drop 20 a game in the NBA if in the right situation.

I'd rather not have that. Any team with Morrison dropping 20/game is going nowhere fast. I also don't believe he has that capability anyways
