Randy Foye
Jazz fan here, just wanted you guys opinion of Randy Foye. A lot of posters on our board seem to think that foye is more of a pg than a sg and I wanna know what u guys think because I always got the impression that he's more of a sg. Is he more of a poor man's Eric Gordon or poor man's Chauncey Billups?

Re: Randy Foye
The guy is not much of a distributor, you got yourselves a SG that can bring the ball up the court. He is a good man defender, and a very hot and cold streaky shooter. But when he gets hot its like the guy just can't miss, but that's rare sadly. He disappeared in a lot of the games for us.
Foye is a great locker room guy though, and a hard worker. And like I said he is capable of playing good defense in the right system. He is very active, has good lateral quickness, and although he is undersized the guy is kinda stocky.
If you want to read up on Foye, he has a nice story, has overcome a lot. Wish him the best.

I think LOJ pretty much covered most things about Foye. The thing that I liked about him is that he seems to have a "Cool" head, not to emotional and I think that was part of his success last year.
I wish him well during his 1 year in Utah, you realize that this a League audition for a bigger & longer contract next year somewhere else.

Nothing but a chuck artist when his hands go cold. The Utah weather won't help I'm sure.

Definitely an undersized SG. He's become mostly a spot up shooter. CP3 had something to do with him garnering his best 3pt % in a few years. Streaky shooter, but when he gets hot, watch out. Can hit 4 or 5 treys in a row. Ballhandling is average, decent passer and plays little defense. But a consummate pro and another offensive weapon on the floor.

I was always a fan of Foye, I think he just needs confidence, thats the main thing. When he has it he looks like he can't miss but I noticed last year instead of just jacking 3's he needs to try and drive or something else to find his touch when he gets cold. He'll be solid for you guys hopefully.

Re: Randy Foye
Good character teammate. He's an easy person to root for. From our experience, he performs better as a starter (or at least with consistent minutes). Coming off of the bench with sporadic playing time doesn't work too well for him imo. Sometimes he does lack confidence in his game. There were situations where Chauncey had to tell him to be aggressive and take the open shot when he gets it, or as Mike Miller would say, "let it fly". When he's hot, then keep feeding him. He had some huge games for us last season where he knocked down 4 or more 3's. He would have likely earned the franchise record for 3's last season had it been a regular 82 game season.

Re: Randy Foye
I like Foye. Of course his issue is that he hasn't really improved since his rookie season. Last year he put up 15-3-3/.522 TS% per 36. Basically his career per 36 numbers with less APG since he had more ball handlers around him.
That's what one will get from him. If he's playing about 25-26 MPG, about 11-2-2 with the ability to shoot three's and bring the ball up as the PG, though not be a true set up guy.
