Grant Hill interview with Petros and Money- Clippers weren't initially on his radar
- Sold on the team after talking with Vinny, Chauncey, CP3 and watching the roster moves that were made.
- Worked out at the Clippers on Friday/Saturday
- Jasen Powell has the same approach as the Phoenix Suns training staff
- Game is less physical since he came into the league. The game is more finesse/euro than the 90's.
- He feels like he has had 3 different careers (Detroit - being a dominant star player, Orlando - fighting through injuries, Phoenix - becoming a defensive role player)

Never heard of Petros and Money, but I do like the way you broke down the interview. I have to to chuckle about Jasen Powell, I think he is getting more experienced, but a couple of years ago. man he sucked!
As for Hill rounding out to a Defensive Specialist. what an interesting observation. It actually shows that he studies the game to see where he can be more dominant w/ his talents. I like the Hill pickip a lot, just for his smarts and attitude.

Maybe Caron needs to come off the bench.....

LOJ, I think most Clippers fans are thinking that. Does Hill have enough in the tank to take Butler's job ( if he doesn't have a good year) and use Caron as trade bait to shore up the squad for a playoff run/

I feel like Caron should focus more on his defense at this stage in his career. He still thinks he is the same ISO player he was with the Wizards, and sometimes with the Mavs.
He very rarely can get hot, and is a huge ball stopper at times.

Idk I've seen Caron bail us out quite a few times when the offense got stagnant, or they went on a scoring drought. When I say bail us out, I mean a few baskets in a row. The most recent instance that sticks out to me was Game 4 against the Grizzlies, he had something like 13pts that first quarter. My friend and I were calling the team the LA Carons because he was literally the only one that could score or do anything right.
I agree he should focus more on defense and we'll see if he's progressed during this upcoming season. However, we don't need Caron looking over his back every minute wondering if his spot in the starting lineup will be taken by Grant Hill or anybody else. The worst thing we can do is put him on the hot seat. Basketball players need to have confidence to do right on the court. Hell, I think Ryan Gomes was decent before, then everyone started jumping on him (and his wife) on twitter. That'll **** up a lot of peoples games. I mean, even Lebron said that fans comments and reactions affected him a lot during his first year in Miami.

Like I said, when he rarely gets hot he becomes a plus, but he can be a ball stopper.

Problem is that it is very few an far between. Really any player who has an ounce of scoring ability has had times when they bailed their team out. Guys like Willie Green, Janero Pargo, John Lucas, etc, but there's a difference between that and overall adjusting the focus of your game.
I actually think Caron is trying to be the defensive guy, but he's just not super quick laterally, and just not that good of a defender.

Really you never heard of them? Petros has always been a Clippers fan. He does some hosting on Fox. I think its one of the Clippers Post game spots. He also does college football hosting and analyzing because he use to play for USC and has alot of college football knowledge. He did that parody I'm in love with the Clippers years ago when he had his own show. At that time he was all Clippers but tamed it down on his show now because Money is a big Lakers fan. The show is on 570am in the afternoon. I think it starts around 2pm. A very entertaining show.

Never listen to 570. USC..Petros; Is it the big Greek Fullback who had like 6 years of eligibility and would guest on Mason & Ireland?
I think the guy I'm thinking of died young of a heart attack, I could be wrong or just confusing him w/ someone else.

Petros sometimes joins the Fox Sports broadcast (pregame/postgame).

We had a pretty good record when he would show up.

Thanks, it's good to put the name to a face; don't really have a clue who he is. I will start trying to look for him during pre- game and now that a "certain" voice has left 570, maybe I will give them a try.
Thanks......
