The Clippers have waived forward Travis Leslie, trimming their roster to 14, reports Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times (Twitter link). The team will be on the hook for the one-year veteran's guaranteed minimum salary of $762,195. They could have saved some of that money by waiving him by August 1st, when the deal included only a partial guarantee of $250K for this season.

What's the point if we still have to pay him $762K unless we're going to sign another player or there is a trade brewing?

I would like to think we are making room for Kmart, but we don't have the minutes.

I think they like someone who got waived or hasn't signed(Pietrus, Howard, K-Mart, Chris Andersen) as I can't see a trade brewing right now.
And lets face it, Leslie hasn't shown enough to be considered an NBA player as of yet.

Basically drafted Leslie so Thompkins could have a friend the first year. Leslie is farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr from being a NBA player, but would be nice on the And One mixtape tour.

Leslie is more AND1/NBDL than NBA ready. Good luck to the kid.

Sadly I was getting the feeling that he would be waived. Good point by MK we should have just let him go before his contract was guaranteed. Good luck to Leslie.

I still think he deserved more of a chance, just to see where he's at. It's easy to say he's not ready for the NBA from a rare sighting when he's obviously not going to be at the top of his game. Feel bad for him, was always a fan, thats the business though!

Maybe the Clips are looking to sign a stretch 4/5 to replace Odom? I know they are not great but, Mehmet Okur and Brian Cook are free agents.

Makes no sense since we guaranteed his contract. They showed Arenas hanging out with CP3, Barnes a couple other Clipps for Halloween...could Agent Zero be coming on board? I know he's done but as a 15th man I'd take him.

IMO, the bench is pretty even, without any glaring holes, so it could be any position. If it were me, I'd look at getting a backup 4/5. Mainly because Odoms a bum.

Should of sent him and Trey to the d league for the year... we need more cheap young talent should go get a SG/SF with potential and then send him down with Trey.
