i thought it was offseason rust when they occurred in the pre-season.
and I'm kind of holding onto the low turnover output when chauncey and cp3 were running the show last year.
but if ur a Clipper fan...ur no stranger to turnovers making u pull ur hair out/ wanna scratch a chalkboard.
worry or don't worry?

Re: How troublesome are the turnovers?
We finished with what, 22 turnovers? The majority happened in the 2nd quarter. We had 10 in the other 3 quarters. If the 2nd quarter kept up with the trend of the other 3 quarters, we would have finished with 13-14, which isn't bad at all.
Memphis forces a lot of turnovers, but we made a lot that were just us forcing things. Odom had a couple that were pretty bad, but this is his first time playing with the team (in an actual game) in about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks. He's not as in-sync and still trying to get back into his groove. DJ had a couple offensive fouls and tried to force things with some bad passes. The passes on his part were sometimes a good idea, but poor execution (e.g. timing was off).
With Bledsoe (only 1 turnover yesterday), the pace is frantic, and there are good and bad consequences that go along with it. So turnovers will likely be more of an issue when he's in the game as opposed to CP3 who is slower paced and more calculated.
Last season, we had the 2nd lowest turnovers in the league. Part of that is due to having one of the slowest paces in the league, but also to have some of the surest hands in the league. As our players continue to become more familiar with each other, I'd expect them to go down.

DJ was 1 turnover from equalling the franchise record. I'd say it as more an outlier than trend.

Re: How troublesome are the turnovers?
DJ had a lot of turnovers that were avoidable (DJ has a few passes to a cutter that would've been fine if he was double teamed by the guy who's guarding the cutter). It just seemed like there was too much adrenaline and excitement rather than the Grizzlies forcing those TOs. Lots of lazy passing too.
Not worried.

I'm not worried either. It was the first game of the season and we weren't on our A game. Plus the Grizzlies force teams to turn the ball over. We will get better and turn it over less as the team gets more comfortable.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Re: How troublesome are the turnovers?
mk, even taking pace into account, only Philly was better in turnover rate, so like you, I'm not worried. DJ won't get 9 turnovers very often. His turnover rate might increase since he's posted up now, but it won't be that bad

Re: How troublesome are the turnovers?
im far more concerned about our lackadaisical rebounding efforts. zero offensive board by griffin, 6 each for our starting bigs. this is much, much more troubling to me than turnovers.
ehhhhh f it.
