CLIPPERS DEPTH SHOWS UP IN A BIG WAY

“I may be a little biased, but I think we’re the best bench in the NBA,” Crawford said after practice Thursday. “A lot of us have said that this is the most talented team we’ve ever been on and a lot of that has to do with our bench. It takes more than five guys to win and I think a lot of teams go through that, they’ll have six or seven guys in their rotation and then it’s a big drop off. With us it just gets stronger.”

“We have the type of team where we can say, ‘Okay, he’s feeling it, so you guys rebound and defend and we’ll play through him,” said Odom, who missed nearly three weeks with bone bruises in his knees. “And then the next game maybe [another guy is] feeling it, so then you do the intangibles and we’ll play through him.’ We have so many guys that can do so many different things, so many guys that can create their own shot in the post or from the perimeter.”

Asked if it is easy to defer to teammates when one player has a hot streak going Odom said, “That’s a winner’s mentality. Some of us make the mistake of competing against ourselves. I think here everybody understands the way we compete in practice carries over into the game.”

“We were just talking about it in the locker room that our second unit can hang with any starting five in the league,” Barnes said Thursday. “We’re nursing a couple people back to health, but it’s going to be a problem [for other teams] when we’re at full strength.”

Depth will major I feel like we are a favorite in every game as long as three of Odom, Crawford, Barnes, and Bledsoe are playing. Turiaf and Hollins have shown to be a nice bash brothers combo. Man when we get Hill back the Bledsoe/Crawford/Hill/Barnes/Odom set will be nasty.

This game is a must if we want to help our chance of winning the division.

Can't wait for this one. Almost the most intriguing is Matt Barnes against his former team. I think he'll come out with his best punk attitude (hopefully not too much) and play real tough.

I want to see Blake and CP3 back to there normal selves though. Interesting DJ up against Dwight, so many interesting points to this one. Cannot wait!

Our bench will decide this game. In our favor btw. Also...can you see Blae or Nash trying to defend Bledsoe??

I really like our chances since Nash is out. (I'd still like our chances even if they had Nash)

The Lakers have really struggled to start the season. I'm really excited and I hope our guys are ready to go. I'm sure the Lakers have something to prove. This should be a good game.

Big game for us no doubt. The Lakers are real hungry for a win, and will want to show that the Clippers are still their "whipping boys". We at least need to play them tough though, but wecan win this game------then they can point out that they didn't have Nash. DJ will be key in this game as he has to not be overly aggressive on Howard and get into foul trouble. The bench needs to be very productive, and we'll definitely need to defend Kobe. Bottom line, Clippers win 103 - 97!!!

I think Odom will come out and play with emotion too. Hopefully his body can keep up with what he wants to do on the court

Cannot wait for this LA Battle tonight. It's going to be a nail biter, I'm sure. I hope to see both teams put up a good fight, with the Clippers ultimately coming through with the win.
