Key Matchup

Chris Paul

vs

Deron Williams

Paul will face one of his toughest opponents in Deron Williams, who most of the time seems to have the upper hand in their matchups.
Therfore he'll have to hold his own against the stronger Williams, to help the team win.

Our lucky charm for for this one

Five Questions:

Who will win the point guard battle?
Can DJ keep Lopez in check?
Will Blake be able to outwork Humphries?
How many points will Crawford score?
Who will keep up with Johnson? Crawford or Butler?

Discuss and Go Clips Go!!!

both teams will come out hungry trying to get back into winning ways, but we simply have far more than they do.. i expect hard fought battle rather than an easy blowout, but clippers should come out victorious.

97-91

Found some interesting things on ESPN about the Nets.

36.4: Joe Johnson’s field goal percentage. Is it time to worry yet? Johnson’s last four games: 6-for-19, 1-for-10, 6-for-16, 5-for-13. Yes, it’s early. Yes, he’s still getting acclimated to a new system.
Unless Joe Johnson rediscovers his shooting stroke the only challenges will be stopping Brook Lopez and Deron Williams, and when you have a deep team like we have, it shouldn't be that big an issue. Paul and Bledsoe should be able to help minimize DWill, and Wallace seems to still be slowed by the ankle injury. Unless sitting out the last game helped him, Barnes should be able to contain him. So, DJ, Lopez is all yours. This is THE match up of the game to me.

27.5: The Nets rank third in the NBA in second-quarter scoring. Thanks, Bench Mob.
"Thanks, Bench Mob?" Nets scrubs, meet the Second Starters of the Clippers!

19.3: The Nets rank last in the NBA in third-quarter scoring. Hard to figure out why, but the mystery needs to be solved -- and fast.
VDN, can you out coach Avery Johnson? If we can put on a post halftime spurt, will the Nets start to get that "Not again" feeling that we as Clipper fans grew to hate two years ago?

The starter I left out was Kris Humphries. Is there any way to guess how he will play? And who do we have to pay off to see Odom take Humphries one on one?

103-92

Paul rebounds from his horrible game, but my question was blake. He needs to get confident in his mid range game. Obviously ex-teammates Jamal and Joe go at which will be fun.

Odom should probably start to keep Barnes beasting with the bench.

We need to bounce back with a win. Barnes played 44 minutes the other night, so hopefully Butler will be back in the line-up. Deron's teams have dominated Paul's teams throughout their careers, but I'm hoping this time will be different.

D-Will vs CP3 SHOULD be the key matchup, but our coach likes to have Deron guard SGs and be a spot-up shooter, so it probably won't be.

Gerald Wallace will start, not Bogans.

Here's hoping these two teams give us a good game!

Wouldn't be surprised if coach Avery placed a lengthier guy on CP3. It bothered him on the Portland game with Batum, and it bothered the heck out of him on the OKC game. I'm looking for a bounce back game from him nonetheless.

great to see that caron is back! :)

and with the way barnes has been playing lately that makes us even deadlier @ that 3 spot now.

Clips win by 10 or 8 pts.

This should be an interesting game. The Nets gave us some trouble last year and I really felt like we should have beat them in Newark. Now the game is in Brooklyn, hoping that we come out on top today.

He's been at some games this year. He's probably in New York quite a bit.
