What would Clipper fans deem a fair trade?
Untouchables:
Anthony Davis
Ryan Anderson
Austin Rivers
Eric Gordon
Do we have the assets to make something happen?

As a Hornets fan
LOL at Rivers being an untouchable if we could get Bledsoe. I'd carry him to LA

damn i actually just came on this board to start this very topic.... and austin definitely isnt untouchable.... and to think Bledsoe was almost a throw in in the CP3 trade..... you can have Aminu back if youd like

i actually didn't mind aminu.. i was torn between eb/ej ... i didn't want eb to go, but i thought ej was already going over priced... but with ej's injuries, i'm glad we shipped him out.

Unless you drastically take it up the ass, either with no lube, or provide it yourselves, I can't see it.
Rivers + Aminu + Hornets 2013 Unprotected First but with Aminu being shipped elsewhere for a mid to late first is the only thing I can see happening.

And that's after we lock up cp3 on a long term deal this summer....

actually Clippers FO was standing hard against including Bledsoe in the trade even more so than EJ. At the time we were all wtf they will let EJ go over Bledsoe? If he had to be included the deal was considered dead

I rather keep Bledsoe. I can see Rivers being realistic in a trade. Other than that not sure I want anything the Hornets have. I wouldn't mind having Gordon back. I'm not sure what the Hornets would want to give back to us.

I agree that CP3 needs to be locked up b4 Bled is trade & that is after the FO sits down w/ BLED (& people) to discuss his future. Saw Rivers play the other night, I don't see him as a star, he's good, but just good.
If Bled has to be traded, i don't think we are going to get Fair market Valu; I'd be happy w/ a serviceable journeyman & 2 1st Rounders.

I know it's just wishful thinking but I've been hoping that somehow EJ plays pretty bad for NO and Bledsoe fulfills his potential, and somehow we can trade Bledsoe + Butler's expiring + whatever we can get for Crawford and bring him back to LA next year.
Even knowing that the CP3 trade would turn us from lottery team to near contenders, I was very upset when the trade went down. I really wanted to see EJ with us for a long time.

Problem in that scenario is the MONEY. I think Gordon makes too much money for us to take him on. Especially if you want to have the sort of depth we have now.
I mean we practically have a hockey team, it's pretty awesome to watch.

i was in disbelief when we included EJ in the trade for Paul, as i was a blinded fan of his and was delusional enough to think a package of kaman+AFA+bledsoe+first was more than enough to get him, but after seeing how he pouted and practically refused to play for the hornets whining all the while robbing them of 8 digit salary going in year 2, i do not wish to have his princess attitude anywhere near my team. if i knew his address, i would ship him all of my clipper gear with his name on it, express mailed.
on the other hand, i would love to have AFA back if both parties are interested in free agency

Yeah, the guaranteed salary along with the new ramifications of the current CBA would make it very improbable that we'd try to re-acquire EJ. I hated seeing him leave, but if you're going to pay either him or CP3 the max, it's a no-brainer.
BG, CP3, EJ and DJ combined would put us around $60-61M. That doesn't allow you much wiggle room to fill out the roster while being conscious of luxury tax payments. Plus, if EJ is out for an extended amount of time, that's $14M going to waste.

Well, if this team contends for titles in the next few years and keeps being as exciting as it is, it'll be a revenue making machine that'll justify going way over the tax, like the Lakers have been doing for a long time.
The idea behind the new tax penalties was to only allow teams to surpass it for a few years while their window of opportunity is open. Well our window is now, if Sterling is not open to getting into tax territory right now, there'll never be a better moment.

i dunno. this whole 12 game winning steak and having 20-6 while our 2 key players in bigshot and grant hill being out and total of 3 injuries including trey, i think DTS is doing quite well being under the lux tax threshold.
if we don't win it all this year but come very close, i can see DTS willing to go over with a few more upgrades with short team deals to go over the cap for 1 year as caron's deal expires after next season... but to expect him to go over this year... i just don't see it happening.
