garnett lives here....would be dope
just wonder if he'd like working with BG32.
we won't even discuss how quickly ill take a regressing Pauly over Caron.
but who was salary?

Salary works out perfectly. The beauty about this trade is that it can only go through if KG allows it. Meaning hes willing to at least try fitting in with Blake.

Our team chemistry is so good right now, I'd be worried about changing things up, especially since we want CP3 to sign a long term deal this summer...

No, wouldn't want to do it. I like what we've got going here.

works either way. but not sure what boston gets out of it.
if you say bled they got rando already.

I can't say that I haven't thought about it. Getting both is probably very unlikely. Of the two, I'd much rather have Garnett. He's still a good defender. Offensively, he can help spread the floor and he's a decent passer. To my knowledge, he and Chauncey are pretty close. I think one is the godfather of the other's child.
Garnett, Hill and Chauncey on the same team? Not to mention Blake and Paul, that's just sick.

The final year of Garnet's deal is partially guaranteed. I haven't found the exact numbers yet. If the number was low enough, we'd still be able to make a play at LeBron (provided he were willing to take another paycut). The possibility of having Blake, Paul and LeBron all in their primes (early prime for Blake and tail-end for CP3 & LBJ) would be insane.
As for Bledsoe, It could be a 3 team deal where he goes to a team like Utah.

I don't like the Pierce idea, I think he feels like he is still a superstar. Garnett, not as good as he once was, but better than DJ right now and he can plat more minutes.
Still, I like this team, it may not be Championship material, but its just about tweaking the roster not adding superstars.

only way it would work moneywise is to give up DJ+Caron+Odom and they would probably want bledsoe on top of that.
it can increase our starters' strength by a mile right now, and weaken our bench greatly at the same time. this can still give us a great team going into the playoffs this season tho
CP3
Billups
Pierce
Griffin
KG
but after that, we have
crawford
green
barnes
hill
turiaf
hollins
trey
that is ZERO backup PG behind our starters. does that mean we sit bigshot on the bench to help the tribe and start crossover at SG? he won't be as effective.
what about after this season? once CP3 and blake's max deals come into play, pierce's contract will hinder us from building our bench in the future. i dunno guys.
all i can hope and wish is for DTS to die and his son in law not to be afraid to go into lux tax. then this team can be a dynasty for the next 2-3 years. otherwise i just don't see how we can keep a big 4 of our own of CP3-Pierce-Blake-KG paid beyond this season.

KG + PP for Jordan + Bledsoe + Odom + Butler is this Celtics fan's idea of a perfect trade if Ainge decides to trade those two. Naturally, I would also hope for a protected 2013 1st from y'all, but I would understand if you balk at that.

KG may retire after this season and Pierce can be bought out for $4M this summer. Celtics would definitely do this deal if Ainge decides to throw in the towel on the season, though I might want to flip Bledsoe to a 3rd team for a young SF. You could have Courtney Lee if you want. Might mitigate the loss of Bledsoe a bit (good defender and decent ball handler). But not sure how you feel about the length of his contract.

Clippers wouldn't take Lee, he was an option in the summer, and the team went a different direction
KG and Pierce? I think that's a little much, but seems like the Celtics fans don't think so. A trade for just Garnett would make sense though, and keep Odom in that scenario. Odom likes it here, and he can be re-signed for a discount compared to his current salary in the summer. He's a good backup big. Something that yields a lineup of by trading Bledsoe and DJ for KG and....
That would obviously be great. I think we all talked about Garnett being a perfect fit for this team in the summer, but concluded that it wasn't actually realistic to get him. Vinny would have to be creative with rotations so that either Paul or Billups is always on the floor.
Teams that win it all know when to give up young talent for the right older players. Garnett is the right older player, but how willing he would be to play on this team or to be traded in general isn't really known. Pierce I'm more iffy about.

Celtics fan here. I wish CP3 was playing tomorrow! Stinks that we miss him on your only trip to Beantown. Regarding the OP "All-In" trade idea. Never going to happen. I'd say there's an OUTSIDE shot at Pierce if the Celtics slide over the next 2 weeks. But if you've been paying attention the Celtics have been playing very well post-Rondo injury. If the Celts can knock off the Clips tomorrow it would be their 4th straight win. They also beat the Knicks in NY earlier in the season without Rondo.
Anyway, Garnett does live in Malibu but he's a loyal guy and loves playing for the Celtics and for head coach Doc Rivers. It's doubtful that Boston moves him or Pierce.
-KG has 2 years left on his deal after this season. But he's going to take it 1 year at a time while he considers retirement.
-Pierce has only next year left on his deal and if waived only 5.8 mill or so is guaranteed making him a tradeable piece. Only problem is his number is going to be hanging in the Garden rafters 1 day and I don't think he OR the celtics want to break up.
-Lamar Odom would be pissed if he had to leave LA again. Danny Ainge knows this. Odom is pretty much off the table.
-Bledsoe is overrated. DeAndre Jordan is overpaid. In the unlikely event that Boston was opening to moving Pierce and Garnett they would likely want a 3rd team involved to get the proper return for their All-Stars

we probably should be moving this thread to the general trade idea thread. both places are talking about the very same idea.
and yeah, what boston fans are misjudging is that with the new CBA and the age of KG and Paul Pierce, they are not going to get much better offers out there. no rebuilding team will give up assets for two geriatric stars with little mileage left, and playoff teams will be hesitant to give up matching salaries of younger franchise stars for this year's run.
overrated or not, a package built around DJ and Bled with two massive fillers are as good an offer the new englanders will get.

CP3
Blake
Garnett
Paul Pierce
Billups
- That is one crazy all star lineup. And with the bench:
Crawford
Matt Barnes
Lamar Odum
Turiaf
Grant Hill
You guys are already the deepest team in the NBA, and you want to add two clutch champions / hall of famers? If I was a clipper fan I would not question that this organizations is going all in for a ring.
