WT: Hornets Entertaining Trade Talks For Eric Gordon

Would you like to see him on a Clippers uniform again?

He's one of my favorite Clips ever and I think, if they're really willing to listen to offers, we could at least make NO curious starting with Bledsoe + 1st round Pick(s) + expiring. We could even trade Crawford away to get more assets for them and a starting SF for ourselves, since we'd have that SG position covered.

On top of that, he seems to love LA - he spent his time rehabbing from his injury here and I think he still has a house - so he'd probably be happy to be back. A core of CP3 + Blake + DJ + EJ + a revolving door of role players should be contenders for years to come, injuries permitting.

For that to happen ownership would have to be willing to get deep into lux tax though, which might be a problem. But for all of DTS woes, if he's a smart bussiness man (and I don't have a doubt he is) he'd jump at the opportunity of having a perennial contender in a big market with very exciting and marketable young players, even if it means investing a lot of cash.

What would y'all think about going all in for him?

Getting EJ back is too tempting lol. I would love to have his shooting prowess and his defensive presence back. Unfortunately he's yet to prove himself to be durable and his salary would lock us up for years to come with dj, cp3, and blake. Now if dts is willing to go over the luxury threshold then that's a different story haha.

With that said, i still would prefer the PP and KG trade (if that happens) over this. But i'd be stoked if EJ ever came back!

The Hornets were rumored to have a ton of interest in Bledsoe earlier in the season. I for one would be thrilled with a Bledsoe, Butler, and Green swap for Gordon. We could really use his shooting, defense, and ability to get to the free throw line.

EJ needs to prove he can be healthy, he's been very injured lately. Money isn't there for him, and trade assets could be better used

I'd love to have EJ on the team again, but he's too much of a risk. He's only played in 22% of his games as a Hornet. He makes far too much to not know if he's going to be on the court or not. If we were getting the 2010-11 EJ over 70 games plus the playoffs, then I would totally support trying to bring him back somehow some way.

I'll always be a fan of his (he was my favorite Clipper during his time here), but I'm comfortable rooting for him on another team right now.

I dont know, I get the impression that they've been shutting him down longer than they had to as part of their tanking strategy. They never actually made clear what his knee injury was did they? A bone bruise, like they called it at first, dont keep you out of the court for a year and a half. Not that I have a quote to prove it or anything but I get the impression that the main reason why he's disgruntled is that they dont allow him to be on the court trying to win.

Other than that, when he was here, all the injuries he had were freak accidents like rolling an ankle or falling on his wrist, etc.

To be honest I'm more worried about Blake and CP's long term health than I'd be about EJ's. I think his injury prowness has been exagerated.

Blake hadn't missed a game since he missed his first season until yesterday and you're more worried about his health than you are Gordon's? I'm not sure if that even makes sense.

Well I didn't mean to exaggerate his injuries or anything but a meniscus tear and a broken kneecap are knee injuries and usually have more long term risk to reproduce than ankle and wrist sprains or bone bruises, or so I thought anyway, I'm no expert.

I loved the way he played as a Clipper. However, he is not very reliable, gets injured far too often. And we cannot say that he had one injury and now he is back, because he has been out for his shoulder, elbow, ankle in the past couple years.
We'll be committing far too much in salary.
If he plays another 30 games this season then we may reconsider in the summer. But not now...

mayo > afflalo >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>monta

we don't need an inefficient volume shooter who does not defend and does not make anyone around him better

Like many of you have said it would be nice to get Gordon back but money and injuries will keep him away. I hope he can have success and live up to his contract. I've said this in the past I don't think he's a max player, but the Suns gave him max money and the Hornets matched. Also Gordon never seems to stay healthy. Maybe the Hornets are holding him out, but he's missed significant time in each season of his career. Maybe we can get him back once he's an old vet. I just don't want to add him because he's making too much.

say what u want.

id like to see how he is on a winning team with a winning culture.
i think he could tear it up.

and monta can defend...CAN....CAN CAN CAN.

these were all things i thought of jammy crawf.

....but Crawford is still a poor defender, and still goes out of the offense a lot in order to isolate. It's okay because he's playing a 6th man role and the team doesn't rely on him. Monta is not and should not be a 1st option, which is what happened in GS, but yes, he can be a good 3rd option, 2nd option at best. For this team, he isn't a consistent outside shooter, and has actually been terrible as a Buck. He's a little small, and the team will have to go to three guard lineups once in a while, so that is of no benefit, Crawford already struggles enough when Billups is back and three guards are on.

About his defense, well, I don't know what makes you feel that he can defend adequately at SG. If we are technical, the Bucks are a winning team. I watch him and the defense is not impressive. The numbers say that the teams defense is better when he's off the court. He has a career 110 Drtg, but has played on poor defensive teams. Since being on the Bucks, a good defensive team, both last season and this season, the defense is better when he sits.

whoa, nothing personal bro, i just don't think monta is the player we need @ 2 guard position.

hey, if monta is willing to come off the bench @ 5.5 mil per year, i would welcome him in a heart beat, but the truth is monta thinks he is at Dwade's skill level and jamal knows he is a 5.5 mil per year player that should come off the bench. a HUUUGE difference if you asked me.

At the end of the day, the only thing that Dwyane Wade has that Monta doesn't have is more wins and 2 championships. That's it. But as far as playing on the same level and competing every night, playing on both ends, shooting inside/outside, fast-break and transition...Monta Ellis have it all.

Lol the Monta have it all meme never gets old

Yesterday EJ had another DNP - CD to 'rest his knee'. Too bad for them the youngsters know how to play and won the game anyway, tank derailed. I really want to see him traded to a team where they actually want him to play and contribute instead of having him as an asset to trade later and the less he contributes the best for the team's strategy...

monta can defend.
he can attack the rim and he finishes well at the rim.
would love to get him in the open floor or going hard to the rim.

as a superstar...he sucks...hes terrible...dont want....but that's obvious.
as a #3 option?...with a dominant personality of CP3 at the helm?

i think Stephen Jackson is the ultimate proof....ultimate jerk...gets under pop, duncan, parker n ginobili and he's a breath of fresh air and a hard worker for them.....and he's about that life.

the market for monta is going to hurt his feelings really bad....because he's viewed as a cancer.
we can grab him for cheap and field one of the most athletic teams on the hardwood....our pace would stay the same imo, but who would want any of this team if they're coming at u full steam like a flying V????
