ESPN: Clippers Coach Vinny Del Negro Fired!

The Los Angeles Clippers Part Ways With Vinny Del NegroLOS ANGELES --The Los Angeles Clippers have scheduled a press conference at 10am on Monday morning in which the franchise will announce that they have parted ways with head coach, Vinny Del Negro.
While being on thin ice at multiple times over the past two seasons, the decision to remove Del Negro as head coach now comes as a surprise with only 8 games remaining for the Clippers before the start of the postseason.
While it has yet to be confirmed, sources indicate that assistant coach Robert Pack will take over as interim coach for the remainder of the season. Pack has served as an assistant coach with the Clippers under Del Negro for the past 3 seasons. Prior to joining the Clippers, Pack served as an assistant under both Byron Scott and Jeff Bower for the New Orleans Hornets.
It has been speculated that the Clippers plan to pursue current Chicago Bulls Head Coach Tom Thibodeau in the summer as he has yet to sign the
four year extension that the Bulls offered him on October 1st, 2012.
Thibodeau has stated that the $17.5M deal is done, but it has yet to be executed. With the uncertainty of the health status of Derrick Rose, some insiders believe that Thibodeau will simply weigh his options at the end of the season. As one of the league's most respected coaches, he will be heavily sought after if he does in fact opt to not sign his extension with the Bulls.

After a .500 march, and many half assed efforts, a shake up was needed. Hope the guys respond. And I do wish Vinny the best in his career moving forward

I knew it was fake because I just read a wiretap saying that the Clippers have been impressed with Vinny's lineup adjustments, and playoff teams don't fire their coaches at this point in time during the season, lol
Good one though

the funny thing about Vinny/ being a Clipper fan is.
u don't want to pull for ur team to lose.
but u know a deep playoff run is gonna make Donald T. give Del Negro a new contract.

If Vinny can produce a deep playoff run, he would have to have learned something and not be that bad. The Clippers don't have the most talent in the top 5 Western teams, so a deep playoff run couldn't happen just based on the players alone.
So at worst, deep playoff run means something clicked coaching / strategy wise
