http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/228147/Report-Howard-Paul-Want-To-Play-On-Same-Team-Next-Season

Basically Dwight for Bledsoe and Griffin.

Then swap DeAndre Jordan for Josh Smith S&T
-Gives Atl the ability to put Horford at the PF

5.Dwight
4.Josh Smith
3.Butler
2.Crabe(draft pick)
1.Paul

I hope not. Don't want Dwight, he will cry in 2 years or less; I'd rather keep Blake.

When has a sign-and-trade ever fetched a team a young all-star big and an up and coming point guard?

The dude's a free agent and can sign wherever he wants and if he does want to come to the Clippers, then the team would be nuts to give up Griffin in such a deal.

Though, they could give up Jordan(not needed and could be send elsewhere), Bledsoe and picks, which is more like a package that sign-and-trades can net you.

Why is Paul pushing for this? Griffin has more potential than Howard. I really don't like Howard, but I guess I'd have to cheer for him if this were to occur

If we actually could trade for Dwight, and then trade DJ for Josh Smith, that would be a pretty imposing team.

I don't know why ATL would do that though.

Interesting that HOWARD is stating that he & CP3 will play together next year, but we haven't heard from the CP3 Camp, yet. Chris paul is a smart guy, & LA has welcomed him w/ open arms, he is well loved (by the unknown & famous) he is starring in National T.V. ads, why would he want to go back 8 years to fix Atlanta's mistake? I don't think D12 wants to go to Atlanta, he could have gone home last year.
Way too much speculation going on, I will believe it when CP3 signs a contract around July 7th. I hope it is w/ the Clips and if its not then that is ONE mistake that CP3 will have to live with as well as being a Charles Barkley of his generation; great player w/ No Championships.

ryan

who, other than atlanta, has a chance at getting both paul and howard?

    Larry Coon
I don’t think any team — including Atlanta — has a realistic chance to begin with. But Atlanta has the most cap room so of all the scenarios I heard, they would be the least implausible scenario. Houston could clear enough room to sign one but not both, so MAYBE they could sign one and convince the others team to do a sign-and-trade. Dallas has less ability than Houston. Detroit has less cap room than Atlanta. And as I said elsewhere in this chat, the Lakers and Clippers doing a sign-and-trade is unrealistic.

Clear out the team, make CP3 and Dwight take a LeBron paycut

Paul/vet min
2013 draft pick/vet min
Pierce (vet min to win more rings)/vet min
Blake/vet min
Howard/vet min

It's possible, but sadly I don't trust Sterling to be so boss like Riley.

Side Note: That would probably be the best frontcourt in the NBA

Blake has more offensive potential, defensively, Howard is miles ahead.

I'd hate for CP3 to come out and make this clear, it doesn't seem right him and Dwight coming out saying they'd like to play together. And if your CP, you wouldn't say that if your still a part of the Clipper franchise, surely.

Reporting Dwight's worth Bled and Blake? What the? No way, if that happened.... wow. Just no.

Rumours are a part of the offseason but when it comes down to next season for us, all I want to here is CP and Blake growing closer and wanting to build more of a future for the Clips together. That star duo, leave it. The rest I don't really mind. DJ + Bledsoe both have possibilities of leaving so rumours are gonna swirl around those 2.

There will be rumors for at least the next 15 days. This isn't much of a fun offseason in terms of big name free-agents, so they (the media) have to work (create stories) with what they have.

as long as we keep Blake, we need to go after Dwight tough.

glad CP put the ball in the Clipper's court on this one.
keep whining about how he's a cancer and you don't want him in ur locker room...i'll take the 17-12 on a down year.

The Lakers are at a disadvantage in sign and trade scenario. If the Lakers are willing to lose Howard for nothing rather than get something in a sign and trade deal built around DJ, Caron, Bledsoe and possible draft picks, all the Clippers have to do is trade DJ,Caron and Bledsoe for little in return maybe mostly draft picks to free up cap to sign both Paul and Howard to slightly less than max contracts. Everybody is crazy to think that DTS is going to trade his cash cow in Blake Griffin.

As a Celtics fan, got to say you're making a mistake if you hold Bledsoe out of a Doc/KG deal to keep him for a run at Howard.. It's an over-reach, and dealing Griffin for Howard is just bad, bad karma.. Griffin seems like a team player without a huge ego, Dwight is nothing but headaches..
