How long can the Clippers wait until they have a Coach?

This is one ballsy move from Clipper Management, I don't totally get what is driving their fixation w/ Doc, but they never asked for my opinion. The longer this Clipper- Celtic drama continues, the more I admirer Management's position. I still don't think Doc is the right coach for this team, so go prove me wrong.
My concern is what happens if we don't get Doc, will Hollins or Shaw still be available & who would be better for our team? I understand that it doesn't help that your leader is a Free Agent & can walk anytime after July 1st and he seems to have a vested interest in the next coach.
Or do most people think the Doc situation will work itself out and he will be the coach next season? Tons of questions if we don't get Doc, who is the next target & are we worried that another team may hire him b4 the Clippers are finally at a place to offer the job? I guess the good news is that there are 3 candidates for 2 other (Denver & Memphis) jobs with good teams.
