POLL: KG or Doc?

I've already made it known that I'd rather have Garnett over the privilege of over-committing to Rivers. Just curious what the board sentiment is.

No way Rivers is the prize plus I'm glad we have to just deal for Rivers. I really didnt want to see DJ go.

Doc is the primary concern right now. He's the long term piece. Like him or not, he does have championship experience and is one of the most respected coaches in the league.

KG could certainly help on the court with his play and in the locker room with his passion, intensity and wisdom. However, he is 37 years old and entering his 19th season in the league. Throughout the history of the NBA, Kareem is pretty much the exception for big men that deep into their careers. Others dealt with injuries or were claimed by Father Time.

KG right now has some bone spurs in his ankle that were moving to his foot. He opted to not have surgery to remove them. That needs to be taken into consideration.

Thanks for the info, mkwest.

Geez, I didn't know about the bone spurs. I wasn't worried so much about KG's age given his unique athleticism although he does have more wear than the typical NBA veteran since he played straight out of high school. It's not like I was expecting him to log heavy minutes or anything, but his foot ailment does put a damper on my optimism for him.

I agree with why there should be confidence in him despite his age, but the injury concern is a little scary. He played through it in the playoffs, but that's the playoffs. I don't know how long surgery would sideline him, but if we do acquire him, I want him to do whatever he needs to do in order to be effective for us on the court.

I had concerns about Paul's knee when we were going after him. Aside from him banging knees a couple of times, it hasn't really been a problem to this point. If you can add Doc, KG and Pierce, it's a huge coup and could go a long way at putting us over the top. I'm not going to be upset either way. Risks (preferably calculated risks) are almost necessary on the road to any type of success.

The only way you get Garnett is to bring in Rivers as the coach.
If Rivers isn't coaching the Clippers, then Garnett isn't coming.

So it's pretty much a non issue, given that only Rivers would come without anyone else attached while Garnett only wants to play for Doc.

Doc wants to be on the Clipper sidelines! CP3 wants Doc, the Clips are in L.A., they finally have some love, some potential & older Free Agents (the guys that Doc Loves/they love him back) want.
If Doc comes players will follow, if KG comes 1st then it becomes about salaries & who is going to manage the player's court time.
I can't believe this is already into day 5 w/ no resolution, freaking childish & petty. Yes, that is including the NBA & stern.
