Carl Landry meeting with Clippers

Post#1 » by PG3 » Tue Jul 2, 2013 5:56 pm

Per wiretap

I would really like him in a clippers uniform. He can be that big man off the bench who can knock down mid range jumpers.

I guess he might be the best stretch 4 available with what we have to offer, plus CP likes him. He would be good value with half of the MLE. He's a 18ppg, 9rpg per 36mpg guy. DJ better step it up and play big minutes though because a Griffin/Landry combo at the 4/5 does not protect the rim.

If Landry does sign, I think we still need a taller guy to backup DJ (if he is still here) who will be good & cheap. I think Doc likes Hollins and I thought he improved as the year went on for a Vet's Minimum salary player, but there might be better options.

Only problem I see with Landry is that he dissed Griffin publicly last season. He said David Lee is the best power forward in the NBA. Griffin is the best at selling tickets. I guess Blake could get over it though

He'll take back all those words if he becomes teammates with Griffin. They always do.

Matt Barnes flagrant fouled griff and they're good, so I'm fine.

This means no Lamar?

Hopefully, no Lamar! I don't understand how a professional athlete comes into Training Camp 2 years in a Row Fat & out of shape & the fans don't scold him for not keeping his word. Odom was ok near the end of last season, but he wasn't worth 8 million, don't know why Los Angeles loves him so much, no work ethic.

I'd certainly much rather have Landry than Odom. Odom did improve over the course of the season, but he still could not contribute on offense consistently enough. In particular, his jump shot remained broken.

Warriors fan here.

How much do you think Landry is worth? The full MLE of $5.15M? How many years?

Landry would be a solid fit.

As for him dissing BG (kinda)
as far as I remember Barnes dissed Blake, there teammates. Dudley 'punked' Blake on court if anyone remembers that youtube vid where I think it's got something to do with 'flopping', there now teammates. It seems like it's a way of coming to Clips... diss BG first lol

We need this happen. Terrific backup and in-practice sparring partner for Blake.

This would be a great signing! I wanted him before the trade and even more now. Getting Landry for the MLE would leave our lineup stacked full of guys in their prime that all mesh together beautifully! Not to mention we have a great coach now!!

3 would be fair, but may need to give him that 4th year to seal the deal.

Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine about 9 minutes ago
Clippers & Carl Landry, I'm told, in serious contract talks. Hearing Clips optimistic, but question is: Will it cost 'em whole mid-level?'
