happy belated 4th for everyone.
i was stuck at my in laws without internet as usual and didn't get to say hello.

BTW on the way to my in laws, while passing through a small town i saw people flying confederate flags for the 4th of july. my initial reaction was of course a rage against the racists, but soon i couldn't help laugh at the fact that they are not only displaying their hate, but doing so on the wrong war. we fought british back then, not civil war.

Lol I see confederate flags down here regularly. And the license plates. I don't see it as racist, just a part of history
But when I go to VA where my grandparents are in the boonies everyyyyone has one lol

yeah a part of the history where people refused to free blacks from slavery and would rather kill each other for it.
i know some consider it a part of their heritage, but believe me, if my ancestors practiced in kidnapping and human trafficking, enslaving other human beings, i wouldn't parade it in public about it.

the point is, the fourth of july is to celebrate our independence from the british. the confederate south has absolutely have nothing to do with it since the confederacy and its flag didn't even begin to exist in 1775, and not until 1861. the only flag this country had at that time was the Old Glory and nothing else. those rednecks missed their celebration date by a century, and to me, that's just ignorant.

anywho, if they wanted to show their support for the confederacy, do it on february 8th. that's the date of confederacy's birth. and preferably keep it in montgomery, alabama and the rest of the 7 states only.

Ya. The 4th isn't exactly the right day haha. Oh well, to each their own
